This role is responsible for supervising/monitoring all operations, maintenance and engineering functions of the telecommunications Operations and Maintenance (O&M;) Contractor to ensure contract compliance. It also provides technical advice to the contractor on installation, repair and maintenance of various telephone systems, radios, CATV systems etc., and reviews engineering drawings.
Main duties include, but may not be limited to:
Coordinates with MOPTT on new telephone cable plant construction, expansion of existing cable plant, PABX truck assignments, and the maintenance of all interface telephone equipment.
Interfaces with heavy industrial users and other construction contractors to accomplish the engineering to provide interim telecommunications during construction stage.
Reviews engineering work request (ESR’s) for all telecommunications design and engineering drawings related to construction projects.
Ensures contractor compliance in overall maintenance and engineering areas as defined under item #1 above.
Originates status reports for contractor performance evaluation.
Reviews and approves contractors test procedures and as-built drawing for new telecommunications systems.
Reviews and approves contractors proposals for equipment and system additions to maintain or improve service.
Evaluates contractors proposed solutions to specific technical and engineering problems and advises changes where necessary.
Coordinates planning and scheduling of work in the telecommunications network with the contractor to accommodate future growth within the scope of contract.
Assist in the inspection, test and acceptance of all telecommunications related systems constructed in MYAS.
Provide technical assistance to the MSC and Municipal Engineering in the development of RFPs
المهارات
Minimum requirements for this role include:
A bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering and be familiar with state-of-the-art technology and techniques and their application in the field of telecommunications.
Minimum of fifteen (15) years engineering and maintenance experience in diverse fields of telecommunications, including radio and voice frequency transmission, switching, outside plant. Engineering/design background is essential.
Must have managerial experience of at least 8 years within the field of telecommunications.
Overseas experience in telecommunications management involving personnel of different nationalities is desirable.
Will be thoroughly familiar with accepted maintenance and engineering philosophies as used by broad based telecommunication organisations, e.g. operating companies or MOPTT.
Must have knowledge and recent managerial experience of work control, scheduling, productivity and work management.
