• The role of food safety specialist is to identify and reduce risks relating to food services. Prevent hazards that maybe harmful to assets, human life, or the reputation of the company.
• Ensure high levels of food safety, health, and environmental standard at all time by developing and implementing policies and procedures taken from best practices, company, local and international standards.
• Conducting routine safety inspection, safety surveillance and recommend safety corrective action to prevent incidents.
• Training others to follow and cultivate a culture that harnesses a safe and healthy food production environment for people to work and enjoy.
• To report all and any potential hazards, accidents or incident to the direct reporting line set out and act appropriately to limit the negative effects of any such incidents.
• Understand the requirements of the Food HSE Plan, HACCP to ensure project HSE Plan and management system is implemented in daily work activities on site or in area of responsibility.
• Conduct daily/weekly/ monthly inspections on all food service areas and create reports.
• Oversee SP training records using training MATRIX.
• Communication of HSE food Policy, applicable legal requirements, HSE information and lessons learned time to time to all project personnel / in area of responsibility.
• Participate in / facilitate preparation, review and modifications of risk assessments as required, for all activities and food facilities.
• Assist Service provider to complete accident / incident forms for on-site and off-site accidents related to project employees’ vehicles.
• Lead / Participate in accident / incident investigation and reporting as necessary and follow-up the corrective actions until completion.
• Monitor safe E2E on all food preparation, storage, and delivery.
• Ensure premises and equipment including vehicles are inspected, tested as required by relevant procedure and inspection recorded using appropriate formats.
• Ensure emergency response preparedness provisions / plans in place and awareness amongst site employees.
• Assist Sr. NEOM HSEO conduct audits on project site as per required frequency.
• Ensure waste is segregated, stored, and disposed properly and log maintained.
• Perform inspection of fire detection and firefighting equipment regularly and report findings to concern in time for corrective actions.
• Monitor work area environment through the pro-active enforcement of HSE Rules and Regulations.
• Advice / guide employees on selection, use, limitations, maintenance, and storage of personal protective equipment and monitor the compliance.
• Closely monitor the compliance with reference to COVID 19 and other processes as applicable.
• Regular inspection of first aid facility and replenishment of required items. Record inspection in appropriate form.
• Monitor subcontractor’s compliance with rules and regulations on site and provide feedback to project management.
• Participate and provide necessary input for weekly reports and partake in meetings to review food safety performance and participate in client meetings as required.
• Establish and maintain effective work relationship between company, clients, and its subcontractors.
• Monitor hygiene in workers, their accommodations through routine inspections and report findings to concerned personnel including Project / Site Manager.
• Prepare and Implement Risk Assessment, JSA, Step back Cards for food safety.
• Keep updated full HACCP plan for all food’s services.
• Understand and follow routed of communication as per project organization chart.
• Assumes overall food safety responsibilities on the projects where only one HSE representative on a project site.
• Continually implementing physical and systematic change to better the food safety at NEOM as a whole and make it more efficient and user-friendly workspace.
• Act with integrity in line with company policy, rules, and regulation.
Minimums have 10 years’ experience in a food safety management position within similar industry.
Minimum 10 years’ experience working in large companies in business management role.
Bachelor’s degree in food safety management or relevant qualification
