We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bakery Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As the Bakery Sous Chef, you will play a key role in the bakery department, assisting the Head Baker in overseeing all bakery operations. Your primary responsibilities will include supervising bakery staff, coordinating production schedules, ensuring quality control, and contributing to recipe development. Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Baker in managing the day-to-day operations of the bakery department.
Supervise and train bakery staff, providing guidance, support, and feedback as needed.
Collaborate with the Head Baker to develop and refine recipes for various baked goods, ensuring consistent quality and flavor.
Coordinate production schedules to meet daily demands, adjusting as needed based on customer orders and inventory levels.
Monitor the baking process to ensure proper techniques, temperatures, and timings are followed.
Oversee the preparation and baking of a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and specialty items.
Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Assist in managing inventory and ordering of baking ingredients and supplies.
Conduct regular quality control checks on finished products, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
Stay updated on baking trends, techniques, and industry developments, incorporating new ideas into bakery offerings.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Baker or Pastry Chef, with at least 5 years of experience in a bakery environment.
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
Experience in bread-making, pastry production, cake decorating, and various baking methods.
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to guide and motivate a team.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering consistently high-quality baked goods.
Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
