Pastry Chef / Chef in Charge Job Description:
Brief:
- At Rabbithole, we produce custom cakes, some very good custom pizza, Designed swiss rolls, party food and most noticeably, we make some really good celebrations. WE SELL GOOD VIBES>
Candidate should possess good knowledge of pastry items production & SOP’s.
Candidate must be a leader and responsible for all restaurant operational details ( Both pastry, line & bar operations). Candidate should be a team player, calm under pressure of orders, and decisive.
Familiarize with all menu items & their production in a perfect way.
Participate in food preparation for all sections.
Handle inventory ordering and levels.
Food production for all sections as well.
Handle stock and ingredients inventory according to FIFO.
Ensure implementation of SOP’s.
Collaborate with staff as one team to create family atmosphere.
- Keeps cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours.
- Trains kitchen employees to restaurant and kitchen standards.
- Manages food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimises waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns.
- Supervises their team members in preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards.
Inspect and supervise storage units and procedures according to local municipal instructions.
Make sure all restaurant processes comply with local municipal instructions.
Conduct opening and closing processes.
Waste control and bi - weekly financial reporting to management (Using EXCEL)
Inventory system counts done on daily basis.
Insure Rotation and timing of production of signature cake items.
Train and guide shift participants daily while offering reports to management on topic.
Respect colleagues and management. Is a good keeper of all kitchen assets.
Controls reactions and emotions, team player, has fun, and resolves conflict responsibly by working with management & other shifts.
