Oversee the MEP activities that take place on the worksite. Managing MEP crew, inspecting ongoing work, ensuring adherence to all building codes and Government regulations, arranging for necessary equipment and keeping construction project costs under budget. Heavily involved in planning, organizing and controlling deliverables at site. Responsible for supervising the sub-contractors and labor while maintaining a safe working environment. Responsible for the project deliverables as set out by the project manager to maintaining a project schedule completion date.
• Oversee day to day MEP operations of the site.
• Establishes, assigns, and adjusts work methods and procedures to meet schedules using knowledge of capacities and capabilities of personnel and equipment.
• Ensure a consistently high standard of work is produced in accordance with specification and quality standards through regular quality inspections.
• Create and maintain good relations with clients, sub-contractors, design teams as well as any other stakeholders.
• Attending project management meetings.
• Resolving problems and implementing improvements.
• Arrange labor on a weekly basis in accordance with the labor histogram and programme.
• Inform Project Manager of any potential delays on the project.
• Ensure site safety and security; devise and implement site policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of equipment.
• Monitor and control temporary firefighting and other emergency equipment during execution.
• Handle emergencies appropriately according to established procedures; prepare and file accident reports.
• Prevent interruptions and fines by enforcing and fulfilling codes.
• Supervise and evaluate MEP staff; complete MEP employee reviews; keep accurate records of MEP employee attendance and timesheets; provide positive direction to motivate quality performance; discipline personnel when necessary and appropriate.
• Fulfil the role of mentor as and when required.
• Set project goals and oversee projects to completion; schedule and track assignments.
• Liaise with Project Manager regarding cost control, waste management, variations and confirmation of instructions.
• Completing records for site reports.
• Ensure material requisitions are issued in adequate time to achieve the construction programme.
• Schedule, control and monitor all materials on a weekly basis.
Maintains responsibility for the correct stock levels of repair or replacement parts.
Desired Candidate Profile
Expected Qualifications:
• Diploma preferred (Engineering: Electrical/ Mechanical)
Expected Experience:
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in MEP construction
• Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in supervising MEP in fit-out projects
• Minimum 5 years KSA experience
Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills:
• Ability to read and understand approved drawings, schematics, and construction documentation
• Understanding building codes, safety guidelines and regulations, recognition of hazards
• Supervising MEP construction team
• Understanding how construction equipment works for inspection, operation and maintenance of this equipment
• Knowledge of operation, maintenance, and repair of MEP equipment and installations
• Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
