Job description – Manager Legal (KSA)
Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Legal Head, the Legal Manager would provide advice / guidance to Leasing Team, HR and Admin Team, Business Development and Tendering teams on legal and compliance matters, as well as, assisting compliance leaders in the execution of compliance in the Region.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Drafting / Reviewing, Finalizing, Executing, and Implementing all the contract Landmark enter into with Landlord (store, WH and Office), business partner, retainer, employee, consultant, vendor, supplier, vehicle lease partners, service provider etc.
Ensure that the legal documents and other contractual documents are effectively drafted, reviewed, interpreted, and vetted for fashion and furnishing retail business, Ecommerce / Market Place, and various loyalty programs with various banks, financial institutions, corporate hours, government, and semi government entities.
Conduct various business / company related due diligence and property due diligence for stores, offices, and warehouses and issue title report to leasing team and ensure complete compliance as per the title report.
Taking decisive actions on various legal matters including premature termination of lease with minimum penalties, closure of low performing stores and assessing contentious and uncontroversial issues.
Providing proactive legal assistance and advice on various commercial legal issues, regulatory, employment, and governance.
The person also need to represent Landmark and actively participating in resolution of legal cases under various statutory acts / rules and regulations at various Government etc. authorities (like, SAGIA, MOC, COC, Municipality, Civil Defense, MOL, Settlement Department, SAMA, Execution Court etc.)
Expert in end-to-end solution of supply chain management including warehousing, transportation, distribution, COD & CCOD.
Provide advice about debt collection, pre-litigation disputes and litigation on Oasis sublease or otherwise.
Provide support to HR, Admin and business team in understanding and interpreting various notifications received from MOJ and implementation thereof.
Assist with any compliance related matters (including store and warehouse compliance),
Liaise with external law firm as required on various ongoing or upcoming property / commercial litigation.
Implementation of the Group Legal Procedures while developing and leading corporate legal strategy to promote and protect the company’s matters.
Facilitate, develop, and assist with training including on legal training seminars for internal clients (Admin / HR) to help raise awareness with respect of various laws, rules, and regulations.
Assist HR and Admin team in across regions on employee dispute and other CD and Municipality related matter in the Region.
Principal Working Relationship
Report directly to Legal Head of KSA based in Riyadh
Work with various corporate functions, regions, and departments Managers for efficient resolution of legal and contractual issues.
Work with various SPOC and Financial Controller for financial and administrative control (as applicable).
Work with Project execution teams for contract and claim support.
Qualifications Required
Degree in Law. Knowledge of Commercial, Civil, Common and Saudi Labour Laws and excellent drafting and documentation both Arabic & English language
Skills / Experience required to do the job
Saudi National (Male or Female)
Minimum 8 to 12 years’ experience.
Experience in Lease Agreement Drafting and Property Due Diligence would be an advantage
International experience preferred.
Command over Arabic & English language (Reading, written and spoken)
Exceptional Written and verbal communication
