Senior/Associate Consultant
What s the purpose of the role?
The purpose of the role is to work on a diverse range of projects that cover urban planning, urban infrastructure management, planning and design, resource management, program delivery, stakeholder engagement, sustainability, and economic & business development.
As a senior or associate consultant, you ll apply and develop your analytical, interpersonal, creative thinking, business management and leadership skills from day one. You’ll be placed in the thick of the action, as you work side by side with some of the best consultants in the business.

• Capability on digital drawing and design tools (e.g. CAD, 3D), graphic design and presentation software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, PowerPoint, GIS) is desirable.
A detailed overview of your responsibilities is as follows
• Leading projects or specific tasks (depending on experience), facilitating workshops and interviews, as well as report writing and documentation of project work.
• Attending client meeting and supporting senior staff in attendance.
• Undertaking market research, mapping, and analysis, developing case studies, and reporting findings, including through graphic presentations.
• Project management, including scheduling client meetings, financial management, coordination of subconsultants, etc.
• Preparation of proposals to potential clients and assisting in the development of promotional and publicity materials.
Experience & Qualifications
• Extensive knowledge and technical expertise in urban planning and sustainable urban development, in particular in fragile and developing contexts, while linking climate resilience, social inclusion, and sustainability.
• Experience in management consultancy or the fields of, public infrastructure, public private partnership, planning, architecture and engineering with examples of working beyond the traditional discipline boundaries.
• Interest or experience in urban issues, the built environment, and sustainability.
• Well-developed research and analysis skills, including both secondary and primary research.
• With English as the business language in region, you will eloquently meet-, negotiate and engage with clients in a professional manner that supports our key client deliverables, in English. Other language skills will be an advantage.
• Strong writing skills, with the ability to develop persuasive arguments for both proposals and reports
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to translate complex concepts into more simple ideas, particularly in cross-cultural environments.
• Skills in developing and delivering training and capacity-building approaches which can lead to learning among clients and partners
• Project management skills, including developing and monitoring work plans and budgets, and organising team members according to these plans
• Masters-, first-, or equivalent degree in urban planning, urban design, architecture, geography, sustainable development from an internationally recognised university.
• Further post-graduate study or academic work in these or related fields (including finance, management, or economics) desirable.
• Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

• Attends technical and development seminars appropriate to profession and shares new knowledge with team/group. Is recognised as an expert in a significant area of practice expertise and develops articles to raise external presence in the market.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the impact of technology, advisory and consultancy on a projects and actively shares knowledge with colleagues
• Is signed up to a training scheme and attends appropriate training events. Is actively progressing towards Professional Registration (or regional equivalent).
• Asks line manager for personal feedback and uses any information constructively to improve performance.
• Uses and applies the appropriate codes in design work; knows how to access internal knowledge groups on Yammer, Teams etc. and is comfortable searching out new information.
• Uses academic and experience gained to date to offer suggestions and improvements to solutions.
• Consistently delivers effective, appropriate and accurate technical outputs and results that meet the commercial targets of projects.
• Utilises technology, advisory and consultancy to advantage on projects.
