Duties and Responsibilities

Monitors normal pregnancies, carries out the examination necessary for the monitoring of the development of normal pregnancies.

2.2 2.3 Cares for and assist the mother during labour and monitors the condition of the foetus. Conducts spontaneous deliveries including episiotomies.

2.4 Monitor the progress of the mother in the antenatal period and support individual needs.

2.5 Competent in performing Cardio Topography and interpretation to inform the Treating Doctor if any abnormalities occur.

Assisting and preparing abdominal Ultra Sound and Vaginal examination. Preparing patient for Emergency and elective Caesarean sections. 2.7

2.8 Administrating prescribe dosage of medication to induce labour and abortion.

2.9

Identification and registration of newborn as per policy.

2.10 Care of post partum and surgical patients.

2.11

Repairing vaginal tears and episiotomies according to policy.

Refer babies with identified complications to Neonatal Intensive care.

5.2 Good in oral and written communication skills.

5.3 Proven management and leadership skills.
