Responsibilities
Head of Transport have the overall responsibility to secure a safe and well-functioning transport operations ensuring safe deliveries to manufacturing, Construction and Service within the Region.
We strive to fulfill the business need with the possible lowest cost, whilst to ensure that we are conducting our business in a safe and compliant way ensuring we live up to internal and external rules and regulation.
The key responsibility includes:
- Ensure safe, costly, and timely deliveries to Construction site and Service locations
- Supervise, support and develop the team.
- Control and mitigate logistics risks
- Participate in developing concepts and processes across regions to enable reduce overall operating costs
- Investigate and support problem-solving of safety, delivery, and transport quality issues
- Ensure cost controlling and deviation explanations for all transport related costs.
- Ensure Vestas processes and standards are implemented and followed
- Coordinate with stakeholders including authorities, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure best possible results for Vestas
- Support due diligence for entry into new markets and with new processes.
- Identify and address potential savings within the supply chain.
- Transport capacity monitoring as well as reporting of transport risks
- Prepare Scope of Supply for transport sourcing within the region
Qualifications
- The position requires at least 7 years of experience in industry companies (Construction, Energy, Electrical areas) working with Transport and Customs related issues in MENA countries; or minimum 7 years of experience in a project forwarding company within the region, whereas experience on oversize goods transportation is an significant asset.
- Thorough operational and management skills with at least 5 years of experience supervising teams
- Proven knowledge of project transport and forwarding and/or Project Management leading experience where logistics were critical path of the project.

- Great spoken and written skills in both Arabic and English
- Ability to maneuver and communicate among authorities and within Internal stakeholders
- Effective verbal and written communication skills required
- Strategic and long-term planning skills and ability to maneuver among various stakeholders
- Solid methodical skills - ability to identify details and to draw and communicate conclusions
- Knowledge of project management and process improvement methods
- Leadership Experiences from similar function in international environment
