Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the planning of the nutrition and dietetics service to meet future requirements of the hospital.
Develops and administers operational and clinical dietetics policies and procedures, including quality assurance, within the service.
Sets and monitors
Gives nutrition and dietary advice to patients.
Ensure that proper nutritional advice is given and is available to medical and nursing staff.
Attends Medical/Patient “rounds’ including the ‘grand rounds’.
Ensures patient referrals are followed-up and documented in patient’s record.
Responds to all nutritional and dietetics inquiries and follows-up appropriately.
Liaised with the Catering Department concerning dietary requirements of patients and provided instructions on special dietary needs.
Participates in training programs for dietary and other hospital staff.
Maintains knowledge of developments in
Maintains records and compiles reports concerning the services and performance of the clinical nutrition services.
Maintains effective written and verbal communications and relations inter and intra departmentally.
Participates actively in initiatives relating to Patient and Family Education in the hospital.
Performs any other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.

Self–motivated and with an awareness of current trends in the field.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Ability to speak, write and read Arabic and English.
