Job Purpose: The production Engineer’s main role is to ensure that goods are produced efficiently at the right quality, quantity, cost and time; to the satisfaction of both retail and corporate and Project client requirements. The production Engineer is involved in both the pre-production (planning) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage. Duties: • Directs and coordinates all research and development efforts including new product development and production improvement tasks. • Originates and develops ideas for new products, designs and production methods all current and relevant product lines. • Revising and improving on a specific product designs on an as needed basis as when feedback or complaints from clients appear. • Standardizing desired product characteristics, such as size, shape, weight, color, materials used, cost, ease of use, fit, and safety, as well as option variations if any. • Deciding on production material standards for purchasing as well as inspection of delivered (actual) items. • Prepare drawings that specify color, materials, and exact dimensions of products and building pilot and sample products for demonstration and approval. • Decodes on the most efficient and effective production processes, procedures and methods to provide the required quality and within cost constraints and then training relevant staff to operate it as standard once approved. - Establishing the production systems needed and production line processes required for each product line. - Overseeing the production process and drawing up a production schedule. - Ensuring that the production is cost effective, also updating and improving whenever and wherever possible. - monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed; - Making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality; - Calculating and ensuring the availability of human and material resources needed. - Estimating costs and setting the quality standards. - Being responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment. - Monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programs. - liaising with all relevant parties both internally and externally (Engineering, Sales, Accounting, Suppliers … ) - Establishing, implementing and ensuring health and safety guidelines are followed; - Supervising and motivating a all factory workers. - Reviewing the performance of all subordinates. - Identifying training needs- report any issues or suggestions to the direct Manager
المهارات
Education, Experience and Skills: • A minimum of a bachelors degree in Engineering, Preferably production engineering. • Experience / Knowledge of numerous production systems (Techniques) : jobbing production, mass production, process production, lean “flexible” production and batch production. • Experience / Knowledge of numerous operation systems: Queuing, networking, liner programming and optimization models. • Experience in managing and effectively dealing with both labor and professional staff. •Experience with CAD software is a plus. •Strong leadership abilities. •Great attention to detail and organizational skills. •Proficiency in MS Office.
