Role Summary
Job Description and Requirements:
SAR is looking for a qualified Infrastructure Network Planning Engineer to be responsible for the day to day delivery of Network Timetabling; Access planning, train performance reporting and high-level Network capacity studies. The Planners roles are to ensure that accurate and detail network timetable plans are produced which meets SAR targets for passenger and freight. This includes requirements for detailed capacity studies and network performance improvements.
An ideal candidate will have strong communication skills as this job requires to communicate within internal stakeholders i.e. SAR Engineering, Passenger Business Unit, Mineral & Cargo Business Unit, Infrastructure Maintenance, SAR Projects, and Rolling Stock Maintenance. As well as external such as Public Transport Authority, Royal Commission, Ma’aden and SAR External Contractors.
Key Accountabilities:
Plan the production of Network timetable across a defined geography in SAR.
Plan the development of the Engineering Access Plans.
Undertake minor Capacity Studies for future timetables.
Development of network capacity plans and studies to meet future capacity challenges.
Develop Network performance reports and contribute to the Delay attribution process for business improvements.
Produce Network performance analysis for business improvements.
Understand ARAMIS system, where you will manage all aspect of Adding and amend schedules in the ARAMIS system and the timetable tool.
Engage in and contribute towards new and innovative ways of working such that Network Planning needs are understood and delivered for timetabling.
Undertake the role in a way that is consistent with, and reinforces, SAR values.
Contribute towards the development of innovative solutions to complex capacity analysis and optimization problems using appropriate tools and techniques.
Contribute to the delivery of specified outputs to appropriate quality standards in line with the delivery plan and recognized frameworks.

Minimum Qualifications:
Degree qualification (Industrial Engineering, Transport, Logistics, Management, Railway Operations etc.)
Competencies:
A good knowledge of the Kingdom’s railway industry, contractual matrix and regulatory regime.
Planning experience.
A high level of IT competency is required.
Statistical, algebraic or geometric knowledge and ability to apply such knowledge in practical situations.
Knowledge of computer hardware and software programs, which may include Microsoft Office, Internet applications, Analysis applications and Geographic information system (GIS).
Basic knowledge of railway industry.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, (speaking, listening, writing and reading).
Enthusiastic and pro-active.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment as needed.
Ability to engage with customers, and build collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
