Job Description and Requirements
Role Description:

We require an experienced and talented Programme Manager to support the design, development, deployment, sustainment and coaching of Programme Management capability in a large organisation within the defence/communications sector.

The Programme Manager will lead on the timely delivery and professional standards of all Project works of both engineering and communication network activity on the project. As a lead role within the Project Execution Department the role will provide senior programme management to a team of project managers responsible for the delivery of activities undertaken by third parties such as sub-contractors or other projects, these will ensure the quality and professionalism of any deliverables produced by the project.

Core Responsibilities and Duties
The Programme Manager is responsible for:

Lead and support the establishment of programme management capability in alignment with Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) and best-practice principles
Managing a team of project managers and associate project managers
Coaching and mentoring of both senior and junior personnel in the application of programme management practices
Develop and implement programme assessment procedures aligned to Portfolio, Programme and Project Management (P3M3)
Creating and follow up project progress reports and report to the Senior management team
Identifying and managing stakeholders in relation to the work activity
When required, take a lead role in the management of a project or programme management office (PMO)
The programme manager should possess:

Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in coaching and mentoring
Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes
Good knowledge of programme and project management methods including MSP and APM
Good knowledge of the application and implementation of P3M3
Sufficient seniority and credibility to advise programme and project teams on their respective programmes and projects
The ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems
