الوصف الوظيفي
Duties and Responsibilities:
Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published sleep standards.
Perform appropriate physiologic calibration to ensure proper signals and perform routine positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting.
Explain procedures to patient before, during and after sleep study.
Perform patient set-up, attached electrode and monitors patient according to accepted standards.
Monitor patient via video for any unusual sleep behaviors.
Record observation of patient throughout the sleep study at specific time intervals and as appropriate.
Oversee and perform difficult and unusual procedures and therapeutic interventions.
Score sleep studies according to established guidelines and forwards studies onto physician for interpretation.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age appropriate in the treatment, assessment and education of patients.
Follow procedural protocols such as the Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness (MWT), Parasomnia Studies, PAP, and oxygen titration to ensure collection of appropriate data.
المهارات
Familiarity with all aspects of Sleep study acquisition processing and interpretation. Must be able to perform Sleep study recordings (wake, sleep, stages, REM sleep).
Comprehensive understanding of Polysomnography, MLST and MWT. The Technologist at this level must be able to perform all standard sleep studies and titration of CPAP, BiPAP and O2 therapy.
Appropriate skills to deal with complex situations and procedures in an environment that ensures patients safety and welfare.
Ability to correctly interpret physiologic tracing.
Understanding of CPAP and oxygen therapy protocols.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care or any related field
