· Participate in Warehouse Function / Supply Chain department budgeting cycle and provide input to the budgeting process.
· Ensure effective utilization of Warehouse Function / Supply Chain department’s budget, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered
· Direct and control warehouse activities to ensure the efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing products.
· Develop and implement improvements in warehouse practices to promote efficiencies, faster service, and lower costs.
· Interact across Functions to ensure proper and timely receiving of inbound containers and delivery of products based on planned schedule, if required.
· Ensure appropriate norms for products storage to facilitate deliveries and orders picking and monitor the adherence to these norms.
· Manage receiving of ordered products from suppliers, and monitor quality and quantity inspection against approved purchase order.
· Ensure products are stored correctly and safely, as well as maintain safe and clean workplace in compliance with local regulations.
· Analyse and consolidate stock movement transactions, and produce periodic reports and statistics as required.
· Identify and deliver operational cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives.
· Ensure accurate inventory records in all locations and identify the root causes for differences.
· Ensure cycle/physical counts are carried and concluded correctly.
· Effectively manage the workforce to optimize daily output.
· Measure and report effectiveness of warehouse activities to direct manager and recommend measures to improve efficiency, quality of service, cost of doing business, workforce needs and equipment performance.
· Plan, develop, and implement warehouse safety and security programs and activities.
· Monitor the cost and effectiveness of customer deliveries and inventory transfer activities to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and achieve volume, timeliness, reliability and safety standards.
· Establish and maintain a geographically diverse portfolio of Shaker Group customers’ locations.
· Identify optimal routing mechanism to optimize time and cost of customer’s delivery.
· Compile data on delivery productivity, such as number of deliveries made and number of miles driven to ensure delivery effectiveness.
· Effectively manage the workforce to optimize daily output and ensure all deliveries are delivered within the specified time.
· Optimize the number of deliveries per truck per day, through utilizing the space and volume available for each truck.
· Manage transferring items between warehouse and showrooms and vice versa, as well as between warehouses.
· Ensure all trucks are in good working condition, by planning and organizing an effective maintenance program.
· Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices considering leading practices, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
· Recommend improvements to Warehouse Function / Supply Chain department’s policies, and direct the implementation of processes and controls covering all areas of activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering high quality and cost-effective results.
· Monitor day-to-day activities to ensure compliance with stipulated policies, processes and procedures.
· Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, health and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across activities to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and responsible environmental behaviours.
· Monitor changes to legislation and Shaker Group’s activities, and ensure such changes are covered within all relevant safety, health and environmental management policies, processes and controls.
