Big Innovation Centre - a hub bringing together ‘open innovators’ to co-build solutions fit for the future - is looking for a driven Innovation Lab Manager to join our offices in Riyadh.
Launched in September 2011 in the UK, Big Innovation Centre aims to make the world more purposeful and inclusive through the enormous potential of technology, creativity and innovation. We are a business-backed innovation hub that provides research, thought leadership and consulting services for public bodies, companies, and the wider society.
We convene innovation champions, in public and private sectors worldwide, to co-create open innovation ecosystems and communities.
Together, we build solutions and roadmaps for implementation - addressing shared socio-economic challenges and raising innovative capabilities.
We now have an exciting opportunity for an Innovation Lab Manager to join our team and help deliver on our ambition. Working closely with senior management in Riyadh, the successful candidate will lead on the design and execution of a number of innovation programs aiming to bring together a diverse set of stakeholders to prototype solutions for shared challenges.
Reporting to Head of Big Innovation Centre Saudi Arabia, you will be responsible for
● Delivering the smooth operation of social and technical labs, supporting teams to solve problems and turn ideas into action, and helping others to develop collaborative relationships, momentum and trouble-shooting skills over the course of a challenge.
● Instituting systems of regular reporting on work performed, setting goals, tracking progress towards organisation deliverables & priorities.
● Developing and facilitating strong assessment mechanisms with partners to track program success and embedding a data-driven culture across regional program sites.
● Holding meetings with research teams on each project and reporting to stakeholders and Executive Director.
● Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders through the initiative lifecycle, including representatives from government, industry, and academia.
● Formulating the project objectives and communicating with the team members accordingly, as well as define any specific needs that will be handled by the team members in primary and secondary research
● Supporting of background research, proposals, and output synthesis.
● Representing Big Innovation Centre at various forums, including events & conferences and social platforms, to increase the visibility of the organization
المهارات
● A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (advanced degree preferred)
● Minimum of 3 to 5 years work experience in social and tech innovation and or/corporate responsibility
● Knowledge of emerging trends in innovation and technologies.
● Project development and Project management
● Design thinking
● Analysis of data and business intelligence
● Engineering and/or programming skills are a plus
● Excellent communication, presentation, coaching and facilitation skills.
● Strong spoken and written English and Arabic skills.
● Strong interpersonal skills, with experience of building and maintaining relationships with external organisations (companies, academia, regulators and government)
● Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
● A high degree of self-motivation and a proactive approach to work.
● Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes and manage conflicting
● Organised and Entrepreneurial team player who enjoys their work and looks for challenges.
