Role Summary:
To Work as part of a multinational maintenance team tasked to maintain and repair SAR Maintenance of Way machines and attachments including, but not limited to:
Plasser: Sand Removal Machine, Ballast Regulator, Tamper, Dynamic Track Stabiliser
Harsco: Track Geometry Recording Vehicle
Geismar: VMT, KGT, Clipping Machine
Kirow: 1600 Multi-Tasker Crane
Liebherr: A900 Road Rail Excavator
Speno: Ultrasonic Test Vehicle
Loram 32 stone Grinder
Various items of the portable and pedestrian controlled plant
Working both on-site and within a workshop environment to ensure specialized track maintenance equipment is maintained and repaired in line with company maintenance and operational policies and procedures.
Roles/Responsibilities:
Maintain and repair Maintenance of Way machines in line with SAR approved maintenance plans and repair instructions
Work Safely and within limits of responsibility
Undertake work in line with SAR Operational Policies and Procedures
Machines are maintained and kept in a serviceable condition.
Attend machine breakdowns and undertake repairs to allow machines to be returned to service.
Keep and file appropriate records of work carried out, maintenance/inspection of machine and any machine faults found/rectified during scheduled maintenance events.
Support initiatives to improve machine reliability, methods of work and cost reduction.
Report on daily activities.
Qualifications:
Trade qualified (Time served apprentice with minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification).
IT Literate (Word, Excel, etc).
10 years of practical experience in the repair, maintenance, fault finding and overhaul of plant and equipment electrical systems and electro/mechanical control systems in the railway environment.
It is desirable that applicants have:
Experience in working in the railway environment in a site-based maintenance rol3
Experience of working in a time-critical repair environment
Vehicle-mounted Air Conditioning systems service and repair experience
Understanding of mechanical systems service and maintenance requirements (diesel engines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems).
