Job Description and Requirements
As the successful candidate you will hold a JD or equivalent from a recognized and approved university, together with admission to general practice before the highest court of the state or country of which you are a citizen.
You will have a minimum of six years of diversified practice with a law firm or the law department of a business firm including experience handling large mergers & acquisitions, including 1st or 2nd chair experience on significant projects. You will also have experience with international transitions.
This position also likely will support Saudi Aramco’s corporate venturing subsidiary. Accordingly, venture capital experience in technology and/or real estate is a strong plus.
Experience in the oil and gas, refining, chemicals, power or other energy-related industries is a plus.
Experience working in-house not required, but considered a plus.
You must be currently licensed, admitted to practice, and in good standing in the United States, Canada, or the European Union.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Assist General Counsel, Associate General Counsel and other attorneys in marshalling and examining the law and facts pertinent to legal problems, in preparing legal documents and opinions, and in maintaining liaison with Management and Aramco’s operating organizations.
Prepare and issue opinions and advice to Management with respect to standard corporate rights and obligations, standard contracts and agreements, and common statuary or similar requirements or with respect to areas of functional responsibilities.
Review and advice on current legislation, treaties and governmental regulations which pertain to the Company’s operations.
Maintain liaison with outside counsel and prepares statements of fact and law for their consideration and assists in the review and implementation of their opinions.
Participate in activities of professional and technical legal societies.
