- Work with the Construction Manager to ensure that adequate safety advice and resource can be provided to their area of responsibility.
- Co-ordinate the safety support provided within the allocated area of responsibility and gather feedback from the Construction Project Managers and his management team in order to identify project accident/incidents trends.
- Supervise safety support staff under their control, gather feedback and identify Project incident trends.
- Ensure that the responsibilities of the HSE Department are discharged within the Project and monitor the various Subcontractors, and report that they are also discharging their responsibilities.
- Provide and advise on recommendations for the continuing development of the Project Health & Safety Plan and participate in the regular review and revision meetings as requested by the HSE Coordinator.
- Provide appropriate safety input to the procurement process as requested. This may include the vetting and checking of package contractors, responses to Health & Safety questionnaire, and the Method Statements/ Risk Assessments submitted prior to work commencing on the project.
- Assist in promotion, development, organization and delivery of health and safety initiatives, training, instruction and information systems.
- Assist with the identification of the project safety trainings needs. Advise Subcontractors of their safety training needs and monitor the completion of their training to meet project requirements.
- Ensure that accident and incident investigation is properly carried out to identify both immediate and underlying causes. Collate, analyze and report (in accordance with Project Requirements) on such data and promote actions to prevent recurrence at project and feedback to the database.
- Collate Statistics and assist in the preparation a Monthly Safety Report for submission to the Project Leader for onward distribution to the Employer. Hours Worked, Accident/ Incident Data and Enforcement Data must also be entered on the Incident reporting database.
- Liaise with Sub Contractors Safety Management/ Advisory Teams and input positive HSE culture.
- Conduct onsite/on the job assessment of employees on the effectiveness of the training imparted.
- Record and maintain all documentation as per project requirement.
- Encourage all employees to raise ‘Near Miss’ reports, analyze the trend of reports and find out the corrective and preventive actions required to ensure and prevent such incidents.
- Record proceedings, advice and implement corrective and preventive actions for shortfalls.
- Liaise with third party training provider in power tools, harness etc and organize training for the project staff and operatives.
المهارات
Education: Graduate in engineering or equivalent.
Must be a holder of IOSH/NEBOSH General Certificate and or membership in IIRSM First Aid and Fire Marshall Course qualification will be an added advantage.
Experience: Experience around 4-8 years in the Safety department of a large/complex project involved in Civil and MEP engineering. Concrete frame experience and understanding of HSE risk analysis and assessment progress is essential.
