Reporting to Associate Director Commercial Finance
• Ensure statutory reporting is materially correct and representative of the GCC position.
• Maintain a strong control environment ensuring compliance with all statutory, regulatory and corporate policy requirements
• Accountable for relevant governance, controls, compliance, and relevant integrity of all of the financials
• Accountable for driving compliance in MENA/SSA processes and policies within GCC region.
• Lead local projects from a finance and logistics perspective for GCC,
• Work with the Associate Director, and MENA/SSA Financial Controllers to define and manage the Finance strategy, overall financial position and planning across GCC.
• Ensure budget is adhered to, and accurate and timely forecast is delivered
• Responsible for reputational risk and safeguarding assets in GCC.
• Acts as a Business Partner to the Country Cluster Manager, ensuring informed decision making and working together to improve the short and long-term financial position and profitability of the GCC region.
• Influence strategic decisions across the region value chain in the short and long-term
• Working with the Country Cluster Manager to deliver effective strategic and operational Country financial planning, controlling and reporting across the GCC region.
• Provide reliable and timely financial reporting.
Core Tasks, Responsibilities and Authority:
1. Compliance:
• Embed Compliance Culture across all Regions of the business ensuring Integrity in Action is actively applied in all initiatives.
• Ensure Finance Function(s) strictly adopt a culture of ethics and compliance; leading by example and appropriately challenging non-compliance.
• Ensure adherence to Astellas policies relating to Ethics and Compliance standards and interactions with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), Healthcare Organisations (HCOs) and Patient Organisations (POs).
2. Performance & Decisions
• Act as a Business Partner providing financial insight and decision support for the Area Manager, Sales & Marketing teams, and the MENA/SSA Affiliate.
• Work closely with the Sales teams on all business analysis, budgeting & forecasting, and cost management activity
• Participate in Sales & Marketing meetings, and support ad-hoc requests for analysis and information
• Coordinate preparation of Local budget in line with Affiliate guidelines
3. Financial Reporting
• Coordinate month end and year end close activity with the Financial Controllers and Associate Director.
• Ensure Financial Statements are compliant with Group Accounting Policy and IFRS requirements
• Review and approve Statutory and Fiscal Accounts for the Country legal entity once established, and ensure timely filing
4. Transaction Processing
• Prepare and submit GL transactions to the MENA/SSA Financial Controllers.
• Manage the Country (Legal Entity – once established) tax burden including computation and filing of income, indirect and payroll tax returns
• Act as the SME for complex areas of finance e.g. contract review
• Partner with MENA/SSA Finance team to deliver local requirements in an efficient and effective manner
5. Supply Chain & Account Management with Distributors/Suppliers etc.
• Be the point of contact for cluster supply chain related topics and respond to stakeholder’s queries arising from Supply Chain operations.
• Alignment with Regional Demand and Supply Planning Manager (MENA/SSA) to ensure accurate in-market sales and to-market sales forecasts are in place.
• Manage the local coordination of opening bank guarantees, letters of credits, import permits etc.
• Responsible for overseeing the logistics of goods delivery and clearance process (from shipment to arrival with distributor).
6. Other
• All non-functional responsibilities will be determined by country basis
• Other such duties as may be reasonably required by the business.

• Pharma sector experience preferred but not mandatory with strong customer focus; in multi-disciplinary, matrix and cross-cultural settings.
• Track-record of leading planning process with excellent organisational and collaboration skills
• Collaboration skills to interact with all levels of personnel to achieve shared goals.
