Our client is now recruiting for a Senior Media Analyst. This position will be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Gather, investigate, and evaluate international and regional information available in traditional media, e.g. news channels, as well as non-traditional/new sources, e.g. government reports, online forms, blogs, news sites, and other sources. In addition, take advantage of research produced by relevant competent organizations for providing assessments, insights, and/or predications on topics under investigation. Should be able to present detailed information and reports to decision makers and relevant stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities• Stay abreast of international and regional trends and developments and assess whether stories are relevant, favorable, or detrimental to the Center’s mission
• Investigate and give insights on news and media sources focusing on a certain topic and/or geographic region
• Research political subjects such as foreign relations and political ideologies
• Employ advanced open source and foreign language research, social media and media analysis, and classified data research to provide deep insights according to dynamic criteria
• Conduct in-depth research and analyses on individuals, entities, and topics of interest to the Center and produce written intelligence reports on findings
• Brief decision- and policymakers as well as foreign partners
• Write brief and succinct analytic executive overviews highlighting and assessing key information
• Selecting research methods appropriate for conducting research and interpreting findings to pre-defined investigative goals
• Monitor current events, policy decisions and legislation changes, and advise on public relations messaging
• Forecast political, economic and social trends

Skill and Knowledge Requirements
• Relevant experience as a media analyst
• Experience with assessing and integrating intelligence, including open source and classified, from specific or multiple disciplines on entities, places, or activities of interest
• Demonstrated ability to employ behavioral and technical research methodologies and tradecraft and succinctly brief leadership and colleagues on results of research
• Specific regional expertise and foreign area knowledge
• Outstanding writing skills and ability to report on research findings clearly
• Inquisitiveness, objectivity, integrity and morality
• Strong verbal presentation skills
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• The ability to think creatively• The ability to work under strict deadlines
Basic Requirements
• Candidates with a bachelor or a master degree in a relevant discipline such as International Affairs, Political Science, National Security Studies, Foreign Area Studies, Middle East Studies, Journalism, Security, or other related field.
• Candidates proficient in at least one of the languages of their area of expertise (for example, Mandarin Chinese for China specialists, Arabic or Farsi for the Middle East, or Urdu or Hindi for South Asia)• Proficiency in Arabic and English
Preferred Requirements
• Competitive candidates typically will have higher GPAs, relevant experience, strong verbal presentation and writing skills, including the demonstrated ability to write clear and concise text, and a keen interest in a career that requires regular writing assignments.
• French and/or Arabic speaking candidates with outstanding professional English writing skills, as well as a sophisticated understanding of MENA affairs, are encouraged to apply.
• Three years of proven analytic experience in fields such as strategic communications, journalism, intelligence, political consulting, and the like.
• Familiarity with social media and demonstrated comfort with information technology and multimedia software, including publishing and analytics tools• Solid experience with statistical analysis software and qualitative research tools
