Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
Applies advanced critical environment management technical knowledge to complex operations of mission critical facilities.
Act as a subject matter expert in managing the complete critical environment of each facility such as environmental control, equipment’s, power distribution, cable management, raised floor, airflow .etc…
Oversee the critical environment management tasks including change management, space and power assignment.
Monitor the quality of the work executed by the facility maintenance contractors and document changes.
Monitor performance of the facility maintenance contractors and ensure that the work performed is accomplished effectively and efficiently with a minimum amount of disruption.
Guide facility maintenance contractors on how implement rehab program in compliance with international standards and best practices.
Establish, manage and regulate the critical environment management. This includes Critical Environment Work Authorization (CEWA), Critical Environment Stability (CES), Environmental risk and their mitigation etc.
Enhance the centralised monitoring control centre to better monitor the critical systems availability
Develop policies, procedures and best practices related to maintenance and operation of Critical Environment space and equipment.
Build and implement change management process for the critical whitespace area.
Recognise system design shortcomings and respond to operational and emergency situations.
Formulate and implement the preventative and predictive maintenance program related to the white space area.
Provision of Critical Environment operational reports outlining system short falls in meeting customer reliability requirements.
Develop cost effective recommendations and business plan proposals to improve the Critical Environment systems reliability.
Support site technical staff training to improve Datacentre knowledge and elimination of human caused interruptions.
Qualifications and Experience:
Very familiar with critical facilities international standards: TIA942, NEBS, ASHRAE, Uptime Institute Tier Level.
Relevant degree and qualifications in Mechanical / Electrical engineering or equivalent in technical area related to mission critical facilities including data centres.
Strong reporting skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5-10 years’ experience in critical facilities management and operations.
Having in depth knowledge and good exposure to critical facilities operation
Holding one of the Datacentre Facility Operation Training Certificates
Understand the engineering design and operational aspects of the facility’s critical environment systems.
