Undertakes non-routine and semi-complex planned Mechanical maintenance and repair activities, ensuring compliance with craft standards and timely completion, in order to minimize interruptions to operational activities.
Identifies and diagnoses problems employing investigative techniques and analysis in order to arrive at effective solutions. Escalates those beyond own capability.
Allocates work to assistants and technicians, acts as a technical reference point and monitors work progress to ensure timely completion, and acts as a team leader on major tasks and provides on-the-job training.
Assesses work assignments and determines and secures approval for spare parts and consumables necessary for expeditious task completion.
Interfaces with Production, Stores and the Workshop in order to effectively coordinate allocated shift activities.
Provides feedback on work undertaken, both verbally and by completion of standard reports, to facilitate the monitoring of work progress and highlight areas of concern.
Maintains tools and equipment in optimum condition to prevent unnecessary interruptions to work programs and protect the value of QCC assets.
Ensures that the workplace is kept in a clean state and that all work is carried out in full compliance with approved occupational, health and safety procedures.
Keeps self, well-presented through taking pride in the company uniform and observing personal hygiene standards and behaviors that enhance the company image.
Ensures the implementation and adherence to QCC approved health, safety, environmental and quality procedures and systems that protect QCC staff and assets and meet community responsibilities.
