Summary
Leads and assumes responsibility for the planning, organization, facilitation, implementation, and provision of quality initiatives and quality and performance improvement of assigned service.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Oversees the successful achievement of the Administrative Services’ strategic goals, related to quality and performance indicators as directed.
Oversees Administrative Services’ quality assurance and performance improvement activities as directed.
Coordinates the functions of the quality and Performance Improvement (PI) activities of the Administrative Services through collaboration with department’s Head, as assigned by Executive Director, Administrative Services.
Identifies quality improvement outcome indicators using international benchmarking standards data.
Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating Administrative Services annual performance improvement plan.
Ensures the departmental plan is congruent with the Hospital performance and quality improvement plan.
Develops and oversees on site evaluation, procurement and installation of new equipment, inspection of all equipment and ensures that all equipment are maintained within the required JCIA accreditation standards. Ensures compliance with quality assurance and safety policies.
Develops the PI plan, quality assurance, and improvement in line with the Administrative Services’ mission, vision, and provision of services.
Assists with the preliminary diagnosis of equipment problems, taking equipment out of services as required and/or coordinates preventive maintenance and/or corrective actions with relevant manufacturer to ensure continued operation, resolution and/ or closure, decreased downtime and compliance of maintenance guidelines.
Participates and facilitates in the Hospital-wide performance and quality improvement activities and manages quality assurance and performance improvement indicators related to Administrative Services issues and initiatives.
Promotes a safe environment and safe practices and complies with policies for personal and patient safety and for the prevention of infections.
Maintains awareness of resource utilization, exercising care in the ordering and use of staff, equipment, and materials. Leads and coordinates the achievement of cost efficiency savings in Administrative Services, as directed.
Conducts educational/training sessions at the departments under Administrative Services on the quality issues and improvement as assigned.
Collaborates with department Heads in identifying areas for improvement and in developing initiatives to address improvement. Facilitates and supports PI projects requiring multi-disciplinary or divisional participation.
Education
Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management, Hospital Administration, Business Administration, or other related discipline is required.
Experience Required
Three (3) years of progressive professional experience in a large Hospital setting, Healthcare Institution, Government Institution, Business Corporate or similar organization, or a large public organization with Master’s Degree or five (5) years of similar requirements with Bachelor’s Degree is required.
Other Requirements(Certificates)
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), American Society of Quality (ASQ) certification, or international equivalent is preferred.
