APQ COOP Trainee - Project Management
Job Description and Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY
The CO-OP will be part of Project Management Team for Air Products Qudra, Head office at Dhahran Techno Valley (DTV), and will be assigned to the Project Site located at Jubail-II.
Will be focused on learning, evaluating, and preparing best practices by being part of APQ world scale Project with opportunities to apply, expand and consolidate their knowledge in a real working environment.
The CO-OP will be supporting the APQ Jubail Industrial Gas Hub, a world-scale steam methane reformer (SMR) to produce hydrogen; an air separation unit (ASU) to produce oxygen and nitrogen; hydrogen pressure swing adsorption (PSA) units to recover hydrogen from off-gases; and pipeline networks to connect and transport industrial gases to the broad refinery and chemical customer base in the region.
Will be given technical expertise as required to assist in overseeing and coordinating any engineering analysis, construction site activities, and support of proof-of-concept or final system testing.
Will be required to deliver high quality products to tight deadlines. Additionally, the CO-OP will also closely coordinate to learn how to work in a team and deliver quality products within set timeframes.
Support in the procurement and logistics tracking of materials by following up with the purchases, deliveries and monitoring of availability at site.
Assist in preparing/reviewing design briefs and design reports that address specific APQ and stakeholder requirements and specifications as and when necessary.
Assist in ensuring the documents prepared meet the quality standard requirements
Perform routine tasks under close supervision using well-defined standards and procedures.
Promotes a safe work environment through the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety procedures.
Primary Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Develop working understanding of jobsite coordination, schedules, quality control and safety.
Perform engineering design calculations and regular quality checks as necessary.
Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries and workforce levels.
Ability to read and understand Standards, specifications and architectural and engineering drawings and models.
Ability to effectively present information in written, verbal, and presentation form
Ability to effectively analyze and resolve problems - assess a situation, gather data, analyze the data, propose a solution.
Work productively with others in evaluating problems and alternatives.
Attend project progress meetings with contractors.
Conduct technical presentations/demonstrations as necessary.
Support the project team to record, distribute and monitor completion of punch list and other quality control inspections.
Assist in compiling and verifying project closeout documentation.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
Undergraduate degree in mechanical / electrical engineering.
Broad technical background in areas such as CAD design systems, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, and/or electro-mechanical design and control system development.
Strong problem-solving skills, and the pragmatic application of strong mechanical design theory and analytical skills.
