Job Description We are looking for an experienced Warehouse and Distribution Controller to oversee, coordinate and lead the warehousing and logistics activities across the kingdom. You will set standards to achieve excellence in management of the warehousing, plan and maintain optimal storage plans, ensure seamless services delivery and exceed performance expectations with the aim to increase the company’s overall market share. Key Objective & Responsibilities: • Manage, train and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value, support initiatives, identify inefficiencies, and provide cost optimisation opportunities by implementing all standards, working on targets and support continuous improvement initiatives. • Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and ensuring safe handling of goods. • Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing & distribution activities and employee performance, communicate job expectations and bridge all the gaps. Set department objectives/KPIs, review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports to achieve improved operational excellence. Ensure metrics, reports, and process documentation is available. • Keep track of slow moving and obsolete stock, maintain separate areas for such stock & storage locations and manage stock handling with minimal or no damage. • Plan, manage and evaluate WH & logistics operations, liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers. • Monitor & manage day-to-day orders, quality, volume, delivery timelines and transport costs. Take control of packaging and provide appropriate, cost effective, high quality solutions. • Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers to ensure best rates and level of service. • Ensure effective WH & logistics implementation and carrier compliance for product transit or delivery with health, safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors considering both company and environmental policies / procedures. Develop and maintain work tasks/instructions. • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports/exports or customer issues. Review impact of logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or carriers and report results to superiors. Provide meaningful logistics data to the management to aid customer service and cost improvements. Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics process. • Lodge insurance claim and liaise with all concerned departments for replacement, claim recovery, etc. • Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage stock movements with the help of direct reports. • Identify and resolve any inventory discrepancies and ensure inventory and system records are in agreement. • Ensure IT systems in place are effective, maintained and accurate. • Organise inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy. • Hold responsibility for department budget, material, forklift and other equipment maintenance with accuracy. • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all connected with the logistics process. • Ensure products are shipped appropriately to ensure quality of goods during transportation • Take responsibility for accuracy of labelling to ensure correct parts/finished assemblies reach correct customers at the correct time. • Support new business initiatives & projects and contribute to review meetings and change process by making recommendations for WH & Distribution processes in potential new facilities or plants and advise of cost implications and efficiency. • Periodic inspection of aging and shelf materials as applicable. • Any other duties as assigned.
