Main Criteria:
a) A bachelor’s degree in Teaching English as a Second / Foreign Language (TESL/TEFL)
a master’s degree is preferred
b) Minimum 3 years experience in Teaching English to Adults.
OR
Accepted option other than “Main Criteria”
a) A bachelor’s degree (preferably a master’s degree) in English, English Literature, applied linguistics for modern languages.
In addition to:
A candidate should have, in addition to BA or MA:
a TEFL/TESL/TESOL Diploma “1 year in duration” from accredited or well know organization,
OR
Accredited certificate such as Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) or Cambridge Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults (DELTA).
b) Minimum 3 years experience in Teaching English to Adults.

Duties& Standards
Deliver training services for Saudi Academy Training Provider at company facilities or a Saudi Academy facility or other projects.
Apply learner centered approach (LCA) and self-directed learning (SDL) forms of study effectively in training delivery.
Follow our daily teaching timetable / class schedule (8 hours/ day) and teacher contact hours (5.5 hours/ day).
Attend Saudi Academy orientation sessions and Trainer Certification Workshop prior to the start of the training services.
Attending Staff Meetings or Workshops Arranged By Senior Staff.
Lessons are delivered according to Saudi Academy timetables and are purposefully planned and managed in accordance with the course and lesson objectives, methodology statements, class needs and quality standards. Such as:
- Instructional material, course objectives, training patterns, training calendar, pacing schedules and testing schedules.
Effective use is made of audio, video, information and communication technologies to achieve lesson.
Teaching / training materials produced to adapt and supplement the course are appropriate to students’ needs and expectations and are fully compliant with Saudi Academy guidelines and standards including Copyright law and Data protection.
All Materials produced by teachers and used successfully in class are made available to other teachers by using naming conventions and storing them electronically in the ‘Teaching Materials’ folder.
Assessment policy is followed.
Students are given accurate and appropriate information about their learning journey (ie first/ last lessons, assessment, counseling, out of class support), and learning resources during their course.
Learners’ performance is assessed weekly to check the need of remedial work and classes, and transfers are recommended to Senior Teachers and the principal.
Regular feedback is given to learners, as necessary; counseling and failing policy followed, learners made aware of suitable learning paths.
Participants’ failure rate should not exceed 15% per group.
Homework is set and marked according to the current requirements
Maintain a professional attitude in all relationships with internal and external staff.
Learner and class records are maintained in hard copy (teachers complete the attendance register / record of work each lesson) and contain appropriate information to allow substitute teachers to have an up to date and accurate account of materials/ course covered.
Registers are kept on site (in the designated place) at all times except during class
Register check, student absence reporting and failing procedures are followed
Electronic records are updated to facilitate admin work.
All staff administration meetings are attended.
Teachers are available for projects, materials development, test writing, cover, placement testing duties and any other program tasks as agreed with project management
Queries, complaints and suggestions from individual students are carefully attended.
Teachers are fully familiar with fire and safety procedures and security according to Saudi Academy& customer safety culture, practices and policies
For sickness, Project Management is made aware of the probable length of absence in advance wherever possible, in any case at least 1 day before the start time of the class and before 7 am on Saturdays.
Teachers undertake to arrive to class in good time for lessons (at least 10 minutes earlier).
Dress professionally.
Teachers have to contribute to Saudi Academy quality excellence.
