Duties & Responsibilities:
• To promote successful and effective curriculum development across the department’s programs in line with market intelligence and the organization Strategic Plan.
• To take a leading role in the production of the department’s Team Operating Plan and to contribute effectively to strategic planning.
• To ensure the development of new approaches to teaching and learning in line with national developments and the needs of students.
• To agree and monitor the performance objectives of direct line reports so that they contribute to the achievement of whole organization targets.
• To maintain effective relationships with external organizations such as validating bodies, the Local Authority, universities, corporate clients, national development agencies and other appropriate organizations.
• To carry out the full range of duties of a manager and to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be decided from time to time by organization director.
• To ensure that success rates on courses within the team are maintained at or above national benchmarks and that there is continuous improvement in success rates that are not above benchmark.
• To line manage staff within the department including responsibility for their induction, appraisal and staff development, and ensuring that they comply with organization procedures.
• To provide effective support for staff within the department to ensure that they can fulfill their professional duties and meet the requirements of their job description.
• To ensure the quality of provision within the department through the implementation of organization quality systems and procedures.
• To ensure that students in the department receive effective support appropriate to their needs liaising with specialist staff within the organization as required.
• To ensure that the curriculum gives learners access to the skills necessary to support their achievement, including access to Skills for Life.
• To work with staff within the department and with other colleagues to ensure that organization systems of support and discipline are used rigorously in order to support learner retention and achievement.
• To manage resources within the department including the deployment of staff and resources required for effective and innovative curriculum delivery.
• To attend and effectively participate in cross- college management meetings.
• Perform any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the organization director.
• Participate in appraisal and professional development as appropriate.
• Carry out their duties with due regard to the organization policies on equal opportunities, health and safety and quality assurance.
المهارات
• An appropriate Degree or higher with academic or professional vocational qualification
• Wide experience in the relevant field.
• A sound understanding of the relevant qualifications frameworks and of a range of teaching and learning strategies
• Proven ability to negotiate with, and influence, a variety of individuals and organizations
