Duties and Responsibilities
Provides the highest standard of medical care for his/her patients
Provide the highest standards of radiation therapy treatment
Participates the management of the physical and manpower resources of the department to maximum efficiency and effectiveness. On duty rota as directed by Head of the Department
Participate in the teaching of Junior staff, and technical staff in the department and other teaching activities arranged by the department.
Participate un the planning of further development in the department.
Participate in research activities, continuous medical education and forward planning for further development of Armed Forces Hospital of Southern Region Oncology Center.
Oversees regular medical audit within his/her care, and on the basis of this organizes prospective studies of medical topics of current importance in the department.
Shares on calls with other Consultants in Adult Radiation / Clinical Oncology.
Deputizes for the Head of the Department during leave periods if so required and shares workload in his specialty during absence of colleagues.
Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Potential to improve his/her clinical expertise as well as standard of Practice with regards to morbidity and cost effectiveness.
Serves on hospital committees as requested.
Support the quality assurance activities of the team and actively contribute to the identification of needed improvement in current service provision and strategies for introducing these.
Participate in the Environmental Safety Awareness, i.e. CPR, Fire and Safety, Infection Control and major disaster plan of the hospital as indicated.
Ensures continuous quality improvement and patient safety with full compliance to Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation Standards and Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of healthcare Institutions (CBAHI).
16.Participates and contributes to Continuous Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, System Control, Staff Development and Fire and Safety Practices.
المهارات
5.1 Saudi Board or equivalent Saudi Board with more than five (2) years clinical experience.
5.2 Competence should have been achieved with use of radiation therapy in management of solid as well hematological malignancies. There must be broad — based experience of anticipating and management of complications of cancers and radiation therapy.
5.3 He / She must have extensive experience and competence in the medical use of radiation therapy in all modes i. e. tele —brachytheraphy. He / She must have sound knowledge of stimulation, treatment planning involving modern techniques e.g. 3D CRT, IMRT, STEREOTACTIC etc. and radiation therapy execution.There must be extensive experience of brachytheraphy involving wide variety of malignancies including intracavity application e. g. gynaecological , GI cancers etc. and interstitial implants, etc. He/ she must have command on Radiation Oncology, Radiobiology, Cancer Biology, principles of Medical Physics and their clinical application, etc.
5.4 He should have experience with cancer patient management with RAI 131.
5.5 He / She must have diverse clinical experience of treating patients with curative or palliative intents, whole skin and hemi body irradiation, etc.
5.6 The consultant should have conducted research and published at least 3 — 5 scientific papers on this or other clinical material.
5.7 He/ She should also have been engaged in teaching medical or post graduate students.
5.8 He / She must have good administrative and leadership qualifications to lead the Oncology Team.
6. Specialized Knowledge
:6.1 He/ She must have specialized area of interests in Radiation Oncology.
7. Personal Oualities/ Skills required:
7.1 Shows empathy.
7.2 Dependable, hard worker, cooperative, reliable, and trustworthy.
7.3 Good organizational skills, work well under pressure, demonstrate twice, management skills.
