Sr. Instrument Technician

JOB PURPOSE: Carries out the corrective and preventive maintenance and repair of various types of the plant instrumentation, control systems and online analyzers which includes the regular monitoring, including fault diagnosis, field repair by subassembly replacement or control loop tuning, installation and commissioning of new equipment and rectification of defective instrument equipments, calibration, dis-assembly, repair and reassembly of equipment and assisting in the installations and testing and commissioning of new instrumentation.

Duties and responsibilities

A. Provides technical guidance and work direction to a group of instrument technicians and repairmen.

B. Locate systems/equipment faults and operating irregularities by making the necessary diagnostical tests, measurements and analyses. Determines nature of repairs to be made and replacement parts required.

C. Performs necessary maintenance on assigned equipment, replacing parts as required. Reassembles and recalibrates equipment, runs operating tests to ensure satisfactory repair and performance.

D. Prepare or interpret schematic drawings ranging from simple sketches to complete PID’s, LID’s and electronic drawings as required to satisfactorily complete the assignment. Accesses instrument data such as specification sheets, manufacturers’ technical information, etc.

E. Performs high-skilled diagnostic tasks on all kinds of instrumentation as required and Prepares new or altered installations on all types of equipment, then test runs for acceptance.

G. Sets, adjusts and performs maintenance on testing equipment and required tools such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, electronic counters, salt in crude analyzers, chromatographs, etc.

H. Prepares equipment/systems maintenance logs and reports on work performed.

المهارات
Required Experience:

- At least 3 years Diploma in Instrument/Electrical Engineering.

- Minimum 7-9 Years of Experience in Instrumentations, analyzers and control systems Maintenance of equipment in Oil and gas facilities.

- Hands on experience in Instrumentation and control systems “DCS, ESD and gas turbines” Maintenance of equipment in Oil & gas plants.

- Calibration standard as per ISA recommendations and able to read and interpret drawings (Equipment drawings, PFD’s, P&ID;’s).

- Develop sound technical knowledge of process units, Fault finding, Fast Response to eventuality.

- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
