Comply with all organization and section policies and procedures, and be accountable for all actions. Display positive attitude towards colleagues, superiors and patients, and take initiative regarding tasks and responsibilities. Be innovative with the tasks at hand. Always adhere to the organization’s dress code, personal hygiene and professional appearance. Be adaptable to changes in the organization or procedures, and motivate others to do the same. Demonstrate problem solving skills, and always ensure accuracy and high quality of work. Ensure that productivity level is in accordance with expectations, and show commitment to the job and organization. Resolve patient and doctors’ complaints in the section in collaboration with the Performance Management and Risk Department. Provide opportunities for staff development. Take responsibility for creating a safe environment for patients and staff. Ensure that corrective actions are taken when any issue arises. Monitor local, national, and international trends in healthcare delivery. Lead the development of changes in IT and other systems that improve workflow. Monitor changes in legislation and accreditation standards that affect the section. Assess client needs and concerns, and pro-actively implement remedies and corrective action. Demonstrate commitment to the values, mission and vision of the RCHSP and, within this, to the Patient & Community Services goals and objectives. Ensure that staff adhere to the same values and vision. Develop junior staff by delegation of duties as appropriate, but under supervision. Take corrective action through a learning and development approach. Demonstrate ability to manage ‘change’; exercise good judgment that is impartial, set priorities that are evidence-based. Display and foster integrity and honesty through the promotion of mutual trust and respect. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements for patient confidentiality. Implement and comply with standards of practice and accreditation organizations (e.g. CBAHI, Joint Commission). Develop specific training modules for staff, and ensure that all staff is competent in doing their jobs. Achieve and demonstrate agreed standards of personal and professional development within agreed timescales. Take a leadership role in the emergency plan of the section. Follow the RCHSP emergency planning codes in the event of an unexpected incident. Attend meetings and participate on committees and task forces as required. Participate in surveys and audits that enable the Department (and RCHSP) to meet its strategic objectives. Oversee the design and implement the Quality Improvement program for the section. Collect and analyze data from structures, processes and outcomes in the section. Identify under-performance and develop service improvement plans (using the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle, PDCA) that provide solutions and enhance the overall service.
