RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates in Generator or Air Conditioner (AC) improvement and repair for RSADF systems function and provide technical assistance to existing customer personnel. Performs other related duties as required or directed by the section officer that is covered under the currently approved TAA.
Typical duties involve the following:
Participates in on-the-job training (OJT) programs and assists the section officer in enforcing safety policies, procedures, and standards.
Performs troubleshooting, fault isolation and field maintenance repair for diesel generators or air conditioners for RSADF systems covered under the currently approved TAA.
Ability to troubleshoot Patriot System generators with electrical and mechanical faults.
Tests Generators or ACs under various state of tolerance for various performance states to guarantee meeting all specs.
Participate in necessary maintenance performance
Wire and inspect engines & fans.
Perform all parts necessary inspections on RSADF Depot Test Equipment (DTE).
Work on generator DTEs for inspection & test.
Participates in preventive maintenance operations in all maintenance levels.
Implement approved engineering changes.
Assembly, disassembly, re-assembly, fabrication, repair and/or inspection of electronic, electrical, and mechanical systems, chassis and cables.
Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and/or grinders and may coat surface of parts, assemblies, and finished products with protective materials as required.
Provides assistance during the inventory, inspection, the organizational level repair and check out of MEIs.
Perform tasks as a Wheel Vehicle driver moving MEIs throughout the Depot.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires basic job knowledge of diesel power generation or air conditioner equipment and procedures obtained through prior work experience or education or equivalent on-the-job training (OJT).
High school, secondary school or equivalent with 2 years of experience.
May require vocational or technical education in addition to prior work experience.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCES:
Must have 2 years’ experience in troubleshooting and repair of generators or air conditioners.
Must be proficient in troubleshooting, fault isolation and repair of various types of generators or air conditioning units.
Proficiency in the English language, spoken and written.
