Supervise the delivery control functions and ensure that the ordered products arrive on time/as per scheduled delivery dates.
Supervise the delivery control functions of direct import items and ensure that the ordered products are in order.
Work collaboratively and negotiate and engage with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects, supplies, and initiatives and advise of the impact of change on purchasing and production activities
Develops and implements new concepts in work simplification and cost reduction, including life cycle costing, systems contracts, vendor analysis, cost analysis, price analysis, purchase agreements.
Develops vendors; negotiates pricing and delivery; reviews products and services providing sound analysis; assesses markets for best source or new supply sources; contacts potential suppliers, negotiates proposals, maintains customer relations, and interfaces with vendors.
Make a price comparison prior to the approval of the new offer.
Analyses purchase requests; evaluates bids; prepares product specifications and contracts; makes sound recommendations.
Evaluate vendor performance based on prices and delivery information received from other stations regarding product acceptability and vendor service; anticipate and negotiate possible price changes.
Investigates the possibility of improving quality without a price increase or substituting a lower-priced product to accomplish the same function.
Provide approved suppliers to other stations if and when required by the station to issue purchase orders.
Manage & maintain supplier relationships, Assess supplier performance: quality, cost, delivery, service.
Research on and evaluate existing and new suppliers.
Perform other duties as requested.
Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety and quality management.
Generate reports and procurement analysis for the team.
Maintain purchasing policy and procedures at all times and transactions
