The role has a responsibility to develop a strong technical platform within the BVC-BU through the creation of a clear development for the R&D;members through managing and creating technical expertise, nurture local promising talents for clear succession planning roles. Also, as a BU leadership member he/she will be a role model, mentor resources and show visible leadership within the organization.
The role will closely work with all Leadership members and functions in order to be able to efficiently design, execute new products, renovate existing ones, contribute to non R&D;projects, new project management / sponsorship, increase quality awareness, deliver R&D;and KPIs and programs, lead crisis management, achieve operational excellence, brings value to the overall BU management & performance through boosting sustainable quality through processes, compliant with regulation, customer & consumer expectations.
Innovation pipeline:
Fuel the pipeline by identifying, defining, prioritizing innovation opportunities consistent with the mission.
New product development, major value optimization renovations, new packaging initiatives assuring the leadership of BVC brands and value creation throughout the chain, co-lead with marketing a rolling product pipeline for the next 3-5 years.
Superiority Assurance:
Monitor the superiority of our portfolio by delivering products that are sustainably superior to competition for the consumer, focus projects & specifications on the right Consumer Key Criteria thanks to deep consumer understanding. Ensure competitiveness of our offers through close collaboration with BU leadership committee.
Scientific base building:
Build and animate a science strategy for each brand and strategic domain according to the local businesses & brand vision and connect to the best scientific external streams of interest, Drive BVC strategy and action plans and disseminate science to other functions for external communication, ensuring consistency.
People management:
Develops R&D;team, develop local competencies & attract talents, supports cross functional moves and evolution, develops skills of all Technical teams.
R&D;budget holder:
Manage the budgets and resources for R&D;function within the BVC, including targeted productivity targets
