• Responsible for Safety and Discipline in the workplace.
• Carry out Mechanical maintenance, fault finding and monitoring of the mobile equipment and other related equipment and carry out the tasks assigned by Foreman and Supervisor.
• Ensure maximum operational availability of mobile equipment by diagnostic work and repair methods.
• Carry out duties independently when called out and report breakdowns and faults.
• Assume additional responsibility for mobile equipment maintenance in the absence of Foreman.
• Ensure that emergency work is followed up by reporting to Foreman.
• Ensure work practice conforms to safety regulations and procedures.
• Ensure that all preventive maintenance (Mechanical) is conducted as defined in the system.
• Attend breakdowns as reported by Staff & Equipment Control on immediate basis.
• Ensure accurate, up to date information is provided in the work order for input into the system.
• Ensure that work order is generated (in coordination with optimization team) for all mechanical work performed on mobile equipment.
• Submit correct information about start time and end time of maintenance activity.
• Obtain approval of supervisor/ foreman before making purchase requisition and submitting to stores.
• Ensure tidiness and cleanliness of workshop facilities and all equipment for which his team is responsible.
• Submit routine inspection and monitoring reports as required.
• Record Mobile equipment allocation and utilization.
• Record Number and nature of accidents. Ensure safety principles are followed .
• Ensure economical, efficient, and productive use of the department’s equipment and manpower.
• Maintain constant communication with the Supervisors/Foreman to ensure effective mobile workshop and reefer operations.
• Responsible to maintain safety and discipline in the work area.
• Ensure compliance with Fatal Risk Standards.
• Ensure compliance with Safe Work Practices.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policy.
• Reporting accidents and ‘near misses’ in accordance with defined safety procedures.
المهارات
2 to 3 years of experience in container in sea port and/ or heavy equipment environment.
Education: Mandatory; Diploma in mechanical engineering.
Preferable experience in working on heavy equipment in ports, mining, steel industries.
Detailed knowledge of a wide range of mechanical equipment, diesel engines, transmissions, pneumatic & hydraulic systems, brakes etc.
Conversant with technical/ parts manuals, and drawings.
Fully conversant with safety procedures.
