On behalf of a leading hospital in the Eastern province of Saudi Arabia we are seeking a Haematology & Oncology Consultant.
Reporting to the Chief of Internal Medicine/Deputy, Chief of Internal Medicine. You will be responsible to provide specialized services to patients for the diagnosis and management of Hematological/Oncologic diseases in both outpatient and inpatient areas.
• To perform the professional duties of a hematologist and oncologist in accordance with the delineation of privileges as recommended by the Chief of Internal Medicine Services, approved by the Credentialing and Privileging Committee.
• Provides care to his patients in the medical wards.
• Provides consultation services to the inpatient services in his/her area of expertise.
• Provides after working hours on call emergency.
• Shares in the on-call duties of Internal Medicine service.
• Provides supervision and education to the staff, nurses and technicians in his area of expertise.
• Demonstrates positive attitude and good communication skills with his colleagues and willingness to collaborate and share new ideas in order to achieve better results.
• Participates in the education of Internal Medicine residents when assigned by the program director.
• Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to adult patients (above 14 years) with diseases of the blood, spleen, and lymph nodes and disorders of the blood/immunologic system such as anemia, clotting disorders, hemoglobinopathies, hemophilia, leukemia and lymphoma.
• Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to adult patients (above 14 years) with all types of cancer and other benign and malignant tumors.
• Order and administration of chemotherapy biological modifiers through all therapeutic routes.
• Monitoring and management of chemotherapy and biological therapy related adverse events and complications in the outpatient and inpatient units.
• Perform bone marrow aspiration from sternal bone or iliac bone.
• Perform bone marrow biopsy from iliac bone.
• Participates in the monthly staff meeting of the Internal Medicine Service.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by: the Chief of service (e.g. Committee membership).
• Performs duties in general internal medicine clinics/wards, as assigned by the Chief of Service and as workload dictates.
• Supervises the work of ward physicians, professional development physicians and interns, and provides his evaluation of their work at the request of the Chief of Service.
• Participates and contributes to all the quality improvement activities of the service (e.g. monthly mortality and morbidity conference, peer review, audit and chart review).
• Treats patients and their families with compassion and delivers person centered care.
• Provides adequate patient and family education in a clear and simple manner.

المهارات
Qualifications
• Graduation from an approved medical school MD PLUS
• Graduation from an approved medical school MD.
• State of board of Internal Medicine certification or equivalent.
• Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology in a recognized training program.
• Valid License to practice medicine.
Professional Experience
• At least three years of residency training in internal medicine in recognized residency training program.
• At least two years of fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology in a recognized training program.
• At least two years of practice in the field of Hematology/Oncology and proof of expertise in the discipline of Hematology/Oncology.
• Excellent command of verbal and written English.
