Probationary Captain / New EW Platform Captain
Draken are recruiting multiple Probationary Captains to operate as First Officers whilst gaining sufficient hours and experience to operate as an aircraft Captain. It is expected that the successful candidate will have sufficient core skills to fulfil the role of Captain of a multi-crew aircraft delivering operational readiness training within 12-18 months. During this period the role will be UK based, from either Bournemouth or Teesside Airport, with detachments to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. By January 2024 the role will be permanently based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a Captain on a new EW platform being introduced to the business. The New EW Platform Captain is ultimately responsible for all aspects of safety and security whenever the aircraft is being operated under the sole supervision of the operating crew throughout the period of command. They are one of the primary interfaces with the customer and as such have a huge role in the maintenance of the Company’s reputation, competitive position, and commercial success. This position is well suited to a military or ex-military pilot, preferably with experience flying fast jet aircraft, including people with limited or no commercial flying experience.
Key Responsibilities:
As Probationary Captain (UK)
* To carry out such duties concerning the flight, in accordance with Company Standard Operating Procedures, including procedures, limitations and performance relating to the specific aircraft type, as are allocated to him by the Commander.
As New EW Platform Captain Captain (KSA)
* Be responsible for the safe operation of the aeroplane and safety of its occupants and cargo as defined in the Company Operation Manuals and relevant procedures. * Responsible for operating in accordance with the relevant SHE standards. * Maintain familiarity with relevant United Kingdom and International air legislation and aviation best practices and procedures. * Maintain familiarity with such provisions of the Company Operations Manuals as are necessary to fulfil the required function. * Maintain a high standard of discipline, conduct and appearance as a representative of the Company. * In an emergency situation that requires immediate decision and action, take appropriate action they consider necessary under the circumstances. * A shared responsibility for First Officer development, this is achieved in part by setting and maintaining high operational standards and through compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Company Operations Manuals. * Any other duties that are reasonably requested by Draken Europe management within the capability of the incumbent. * Uphold the Draken Europe Vision, Mission, Customer Promise, and Core Values and Principles.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
Qualifications: * Hold a valid UK CPL(A) or ATPL(A) * Hold a Class 1 medical * Completed MCC course * Completed UPRT course * Previous experience on aircraft involved in a warfare training role. Desirable Knowledge: * Strong domain knowledge of customer operational requirements and customer platform capabilities * Flight Operations management practices and principles * Flight operations in military or government aviation * Flight operations in the civil environment (Desirable) Experience: * Suitably qualified and experienced as Pilot * Suitably experienced in the management of aircrew * Delivery of contracted Flight Operations (Highly Desirable)
