Director Software and Systems Architecture - Honeywell Robotics
You are an innovator, and you build for scale. You own and define the core systems architecture that enables Honeywell to build scalable automation and robotics solutions across all of our digital factories. These systems of systems feature high re-deplorability across a diverse factory footprint of discretely manufactured products, high availability, and are decoupled to enable modular integration of work cells and combinations of work cells. You will define all interface controls (ICDs) and governance for each architecture layer to enable scalability of technology and work cell development by internal development teams as well as third-party system developers. You will guide systems development in parallel with Infrastructure Technology (IT) governance and security protocols. You will lead technology selection, integration, and implementation in parallel with Honeywell Ignition and Honeywell Forge. This is an unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor to build the framework for how we will unlock Honeywell’s automation and robotics strategy. The future is what you make it. Key Responsibilities
Own full systems architecture of the digital factory deployed across the entire Honeywell footprint. Evaluate and make decisions on technology selection and/or development to bring your vision to life. Collaborate across functional teams and business groups to formulate an implementation framework to address scalability, security, cost, and factory automation requirements. Define standards for interface control across multiple data, business process, automation/robotics, and human interface systems. Define system level functional and integration requirements for solution providers; both internal development teams as well as third parties. Build an organization to lead the technical advancement of Honeywell’s Factories of the Future.
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record of leading large-scale projects. 5+ years of experience in hardware and software systems design 5+ years of experience in technology integration Proven track record of making good technical judgement. Excellent problem solving skills.
WE VALUE
Advanced degree in Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other applied technical discipline. Demonstrated success building large scale high availability, high resiliency, and fault tolerant systems. Expertise in Robotics, embedded systems, firmware, controls, automation, safety-related systems, and human-machine interfaces. Experience in refactoring legacy systems to state of the art. Demonstrated success evaluating, developing, and implementing scalable automation solutions within an operational setting such as manufacturing, warehouse, or chemical processing environments. Demonstrated leadership abilities in an engineering environment in driving operational excellence and best practices. Demonstrated success working across organizational boundaries, bringing together people with diverse perspectives and experience to find solutions. Demonstrated strong coaching, mentoring and influencing skills Demonstrated ability to build, manage, energize and motivate high performing teams. Excellent written and verbal executive communication skills
