JOB SUMMARY
The Rig Manager has overall responsibility for the delivery of safe, efficient and profitable operations for the Operating Unit.
The Rig Manager provide leadership and implement plans and guide execution for the rig to support Operating Area strategy.
The Rig Manager is responsible for the operational and safety performance for the rig and communicate results and recommendations to Operations Director. The Rig Manager will lead his Rig teams and optimize the talent required to execute operations strategies to deliver top quartile performance as measure by our customers.
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the overall performance of Rig, ensuring delivery of performance targets and goals.
Responsible for preparing and managing the budget / forecasts in line with overall plans for the Rig and contract requirements.
Active member of the Area s management team, collaborating with Area leadership to meet company goals, while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
Championing Safety and responsible for driving and embedding safety culture to the whole Rig teams.
Responsible for managing customer relationships, collaborating on and managing start-ups, operational execution status, demobilizations, and short-term strategic objectives.
Accountable for ensuring all Rig operations are conducted in accordance with national and international acts and regulations, Seadrill s policies, directives and procedures labour union agreements and financial regulations (Sox).
Collaborates with other Rig Managers and Functions to achieve the organization s goals and objectives, identifying and directing improvement where appropriate.
Responsible for the management and review of the Rig contract, ensuring that the unit and personnel meets the requirement
Evaluate well program and assist client with continuous well optimization.
Support the management onboard in safe practices to maintain primary well control and to regain primary well control if primary well control is lost
Working actively with the Rig management and Crews to eliminate dropped objects
Provide and contribute to the development of leadership capabilities among senior rig personnel and rig team.
Ensure training, development plans and appraisals of all rig personnel is in accordance with Seadrill s directives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
• Extensive experience from the drilling industry including experience from a managerial level or relevant educational experience in Engineering in combination with industry experience
• Proven ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence direct and indirect stakeholders
• Knowledge and understanding of how to manage financial aspect of Rig operations for example P&L;, forecast etc.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration across Functions and Rigs
• Commercial understanding
• Demonstratable People Management skills, with the ability to drive engagement, utilize succession planning to develop talent and manage performance.
• Display citizenship and respect wherever we conduct business
• Fluent English skills both written and oral
Desired
• Offshore experience is a preference but not a requirement.
• Experience of working in operations spanning variety of geographies, cultures and languages.
• Experience of working in another Function preferable.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements
• BSc in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
• Valid IWCF Level 4 certification
• Basic Safety Training
• Financial training for non-finance people
• Management of Major Emergencies
