Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor for our industrial project in Jizan. You will report to the Principal Supervising Engineer and Section Manager and work with the Engineering Department team on the assigned projects. Interfaces and work closely with the concerned Managers and the Department Engineers. Frequent contacts with consultants, contractors and vendors on cost and materials and services. Coordinates & directs activities of all personnel dedicated to assigned projects.
• Carry out quantity surveying responsibilities for the project in design and perform material quantity take-off from the design and shop drawings.
• Update the schedule of quantities and prices periodically, to verify that the available funds are sufficient for implementing the works elements that are indicated on the design and shop drawings.
• Prepare quantity and cost estimates for proposed additional work confirming the desired intend.
• Participate in negotiations with the contractor that are associated with additional contract works and change orders.
• Participate in the review of contractor s monthly progress and final invoices.
• Carry out on-site inspections to verify work accomplishments, if needed.
• Carry out the Cost Engineer responsibilities when requested and during the absence of assigned the Principal Supervening Engineers, for ensuring contractor s compliance with the contract technical requirements and specifications.
• Bachelor s Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, Construction Management or related field from a recognized University.
• Minimum 8 years of experience of pre-award experience in quantity surveying, civil construction, bill of quantity, change and variation orders and project cost analysis for projects in the design stage and construction .
• Good knowledge of using Microsoft Office products, including Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and primavera is required.
• Good experience in project s cost and schedule.
• Excellent command and communication skills and oral and written English Language skills.
• Ability to organize and manage tasks.
