Our client is looking for a Mechanical Technician to join their operations in Saudi Arabia.
Job Description
• He is responsible for executes preventive and predictive maintenance to optimize availability and reliability and quickly return under-performing equipment to design specification program (calibration, inspections, cleaning, and adjustment).
• Inputs information to the system Plant Maintenance module (e.g., create reservations / spending, raise requisitions to procure materials, create closure) and Should participate as a team member in the trouble shooting of maintenance issues at CRU/HSM/TCM/Finishing and Auto Sheet.

• Takes reasonable care for his health and safety in the workplace. He must also take reasonable care for the health and safety of others who may be affected by what he does.
• Cooperates with EHS team about any action they take to comply with the EHS Act or Regulations.
• Lead Technician works in the Plant and maybe exposed to chemical fumes, noise, rotating equipment, mobile equipment, humidity, & etc.
• Ensures that the department EHS KPIs are fully complied with.
• Implements & reinforces EHS policy in the production area by words and actions.
Detailed Duties & Responsibilities
• Works with lead Technician and reports to Shift Supervisor.
• Provide Mechanical/Hydraulic cover 24/7 operational needs of the plant.
• Provides a Specialist Mechanical/Hydraulic Service to operations and engineering areas.
• Maintains a safe working environment throughout the unit ensuring that potential hazards to people, plant and the Environment are identified that adequate control measures are implemented through risk assessment and appropriate control measures ensuring that Company Safety Policy is fully implemented.
• Issues permits to work and LOTO-V method statements in accordance with Company safety procedures.
• Recommends and effects plant modifications for plant immobilisation procedures to ensure safe working practices, to improve plant availability, performance and quality.
• Identifies business and safety critical spares for all operational plant. Manages stock levels of critical spares and repairs so that plant disruption minimised.
• Be the plant expert on Mechanical prime movers, drive & torque transmission systems, rotating/reciprocating equipment/components, Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems, Thermal systems, and Lubrication systems. Utilities- compressed air, DI water, hot water, chills water circulation systems, exhaust systems & trim conveying systems for CRU/HSM/TCM/Finishing /Auto Sheet.
• Updates eAM database to ensure secure historical data including work requests, completed work lists, preventative maintenance plans, budgetary control, plant availability & component failure rates. Promotes the use of systems across the department and ensure that personnel are adequately trained.
• Implements a preventative maintenance program utilising the latest condition monitoring technology and initiates remedial actions prior to failure.
• Controls local engineering records to ensure that modifications are recorded.
• Supports and utilises the various skills available including production and contractor personnel, and identifies training and development needs of the team.
• Plans work and to order spares for remedial work to be carried out on future planned maintenance shifts.
• Assists with identification of hazards arising from activities in work area, ensuring that all are communicated to relevant personnel in order to maintain a hazard free work area.
Experience & Qualifications
• Diploma in Mechanical engineering with a comprehensive knowledge of the plant and processes
• Has a proven experience of working in a medium sized maintenance engineering team.
• A comprehensive knowledge & hands on experience of installation, troubleshooting & maintenance of large mechanical drive & transmission equipment/components- gearbox, gears, shafts, couplings, clutches, brakes, chain drives, & belt drives, drag chains & torque limiters, springs & suspension systems.
• A comprehensive knowledge & hands on experience of installation, maintenance & troubleshooting of strip path rubber & chrome coated driven & non driven rolls.
• A comprehensive knowledge & hands on experience of installation, maintenance & troubleshooting & alignment of cutters, shears, coating & trimming heads & trim conveying systems.
• A comprehensive knowledge & hands on experience installation, maintenance & troubleshooting of strip, steering/guiding systems.
• A comprehensive knowledge & experience of installation, troubleshooting & maintenance of rotating/reciprocating equipment - pumps, compressors, chillers & blowers etc.
• A comprehensive knowledge & hands on experience of maintenance & troubleshooting of thermal systems -combustion, equipment/components, dryer oven, exhaust & treatment systems, heat exchangers & heat recovery systems.
• A comprehensive knowledge & hands on experience of formulation & implementation of effective machine guarding plans, LOTOV & engineering controls for safety.
Skills
• Ability & aptitude for training, mentoring & team building & gap identification.
• A comprehensive knowledge & hands on experience of implementing safe work culture.
• A knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
• Knowledge of Company Safety, Health & Environmental requirements.
• Analytical problem solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate and direct resource (contractor and operational).
• IT literate to handle software MS Office products e.g. Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook.
