Performs imaging procedures utilizing magnetic resonance scanners.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1. Reviews exam orders/requisitions and corresponding protocol and asks questions of superior (s), prepares for exams as needed.
2. Explains procedures to patients. Prepares equipment, supplies, contrast media and medications.
3. Adjusts and operates magnetic resonance imaging equipment to scan designated anatomical areas. Sets computer controls and laser camera to produce proper images.
4. Assists in injection of contrast media.
5. Monitors patient condition during and after scan to ensure patient safety and comfort. Retrieves information from computer and processes information in the proper format for interpretation by the Radiologist and/or archiving.
6. Evaluates completed tests for quality and completeness. Documents all studies performed.
7. Records all required information. Labels films in sequence. Notes all pertinent data required by Radiologists for medical diagnosis. Consults with Radiologist as needed.
8. Performs routine equipment maintenance. Informs supervisor of equipment malfunction or need for repair and documents it. Performs quality control studies onequipment. Cleans equipment and room, restores all equipment and supplies for subsequent use.
9. Participates in staff meetings, in services, and/or continuing education. Assists in training and supervision of students, interns and trainees.
10. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
11. Participates in self s and others education, training, and development, as applicable.
Education
Bachelor s or Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program, or successful completion of specialized training at KFSH in Radiological Sciences/Technology is required.
Experience Required
For Grade 8:
Two (2) years with Bachelor s or four (4) yearsof related experience with training program is required.
For Grade 9: Four (4) years as a MRI Technologist at KFSH&RC;. Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years. Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education [CME] is required.
Other Requirements(Certificates)
-Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
-Registration in Radiography with American Registryof Radiographic Technologist, the Canadian Association of Medical RadiationTechnologists, or equivalent required for non-Saudis is required.
