Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
Manage and lead assigned major or small projects for ADNOC and other Group Companies after Projects Award till completion and supervises the work of contractors and sub-contractors / suppliers ensuring that they fully meet contract requirements, quality, health, safety and environmental policy requirements, in addition to maintaining schedule and approved budget limit.
Manage the assigned projects and ensure project delivery in line with the highest HSE standards and project objectives in terms of scope, quality, cost and time.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Function as the Project Manager Construction Projects, covering all phases from award to hand-over to End-user.
Ensure the preparation and implementation of detailed plans for the assigned project in order to achieve the Company agreed objectives.
Lead and motivate the Project Management Team ensuring effective implementation of agreed project plans and objectives.
Ensure the necessary training of project staff to optimize their potential and remain up-to-date in technological development.
Manage, direct, supervise and control the quality and progress of work performed by Construction Contractors. Ensure Company policies are correctly addressed and implemented for technical, safety, quality and environment aspects.
Identifies any bottlenecks and recommends corrective action to ensure smooth and timely completion of each project at optimum cost.
Ensure the quality of material/equipment and the ultimate product as per contract requirements and specifications.
Ensure proper coordination between Company and Contractor and other agencies involved in the projects to ensure quality, safety, cost and progress are maintained.
Review and recommend the development of cost estimates and schedules for Management endorsement/approval.
Monitors the implementation of the total budget, schedule and quality at various stages of the project execution to ensure adherence to the overall approved plan.
Establishes organization for the project, including work force utilization and mobilization of Project Management Consultant and Third Party Inspection Services. Leads, motivates, reviews and monitors the performance of the teams staffed with specialists within the Project Management Team to ensure the effective implementation of the agreed plan.
Coordinate with other Departments within the Civil Projects Division to ensure the preparation of annual overall work programmed and Projects plan.
Conduct regular weekly and monthly meetings with Contractors and Project Management Consultants to ensure that the work plan is achieved in accordance with the approved schedule and agreement and any bottlenecks to be resolved.
Ensure that the End User comments are addressed as per Project Scope and Contractual requirements.
Ensure that the required Audits from different parties are conducted on time and the required corrective actions are communicated and implemented as planned
Manage and resolve difficulties and challenges through detailed analysis, and provide recommendations for proper solutions in line with Company and International standards and best practices.
Monitor and ensure that the quality and progress of work performed by licensors, Engineering and EPC Contractors is aligned with contract requirements and specifications.
Ensure Company policies for technical, safety, quality and environment are correctly addressed while identifying bottlenecks and recommending corrective action to ensure smooth and timely completion of the project at optimum cost.
Lead the development of schedule, cost estimate and budget for the project. Review and recommend the same for Tender Board and Management endorsement/approval.
Provide Technical Expertise to ensure effective Management of all the projects phases and prepare weekly highlights and progress reports.
Verify Certification of Contractor/Vendors invoices and endorse final acceptance certification.
Review all Change Order Requests, claims and participate in developing the recommendation for settling of variations/claims.
Ensure that the contractor submits the required documentation in the specified format including the project hand-over documents along with the Close-out Report,
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor Degree in relevant Engineering discipline. A certificate in Project Management is preferable.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
12 years of similar experience in Engineering Project implementation in Oil & Gas industry with at least 6 years in a relevant senior functional management role; managing engineering multi-disciplinary functions for the design of assets/facilities; exposure to preparation of Front End Engineering and Design packages.
