JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Managing their available manpower by co-ordinating with his Specialist Supervisors to ensure aircraft generation and flying requirements are achieved this includes:
• Leave;
• Shift allocation;
• Support to flight line (launch and recovery);
• EOR duty;
• Hit Team duty;
• Managing their manpower to ensure adherence to the use of approved data;
• Submission of TQs and TPRFs;
• Spares demands are accurate and review of FDDs to meet aircraft operations;
• Ensure shift handovers are carried out without ambiguity;
• Adherence to tool control procedures and carry out random checks of the assigned specialist tool kits (10% checks, damaged tools etc);
• Adherence to good husbandry practices by carrying out random post maintenance reviews of the work area;
• Review of engineering authorisations and ensure that personnel are re-trained/re-authorised to maintain efficient support to the operation;
• Carry out independent checks of ESS for consistency and accuracy;
• Carry out PMDS downloads and assess arisings;
• Carry out independent checks as and when called up on individual aircraft systems;
• Support the AGF AMM in addressing any QA or higher HQ reports including investigations;
• Support the spot it report it programme;
• Promote and support the use of TERs within the organisation;
• Support the FOD programme;
• Liaise with the training department and co-ordinate RSAF consolidation training within his trade;
• Completing EPDRs for his direct reports;
• Ensuring personal standards are maintained and adherence to the CoC and RBC by their assigned manpower;
• Support aircrew debriefings;
• Monitor aircraft for repeat or recurring defects and previous maintenance actions already taken;
• Monitor negative trends in manpower or maintenance that could impact the safety of the operation;
• Provide assistance as the SME for his trade in troubleshooting/fault finding as necessary;
• Provide support to any aircraft deployments or detachments by allocating manpower and co-ordinating AGE/Tool/Spares requirements;
• Monitoring DLF availability and identifying new candidates and bag sizes when necessary;
• Support the AGF AMM in the management of the facilities by reporting any defects;
• Raising any ROID or deficiency paperwork for items received from supply that are damaged or considered not fit for purpose;
• Welfare and discipline of all assigned PC staff under their control in conjunction with other Management and Supervisory staff
• Counterpart development of assigned RSAF personnel to achieve 2 nd and 3 rd Signature levels.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential
• Must be educated to HND level or recognised equivalent or have relevant experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training.
• Must have completed a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship in industry/military or similar qualification in aircraft or ground support systems.
• Must have extensive post qualification experience of military fast jet maintenance support, at Senior Supervisor/Manager level within an operational military flying environment and proven ability to manage all levels of engineering personnel .
• Must have previous Typhoon experience within the Avionic Trade supported by formal Q annotation.
• High level of interpersonal skill to co-ordinate a number of activities and the ability to communicate, influence and direct decision-making.
• Ex-military or industry experience of serving on an operational military flying unit.
• Thorough working knowledge of the Typhoon Avionic systems.
Desirable
• Thorough understanding of company processes, procedures and industry knowledge.
• An understanding of engineering operating procedures .
• Proven Managerial experience within the aerospace industry preferably gained on Typhoon aircraft.
• Experience of working in the aviation industry in a Gulf Coast Country preferred.
• The ability to act upon his own initiative within the scope of his job.
• A conscientious approach to work and meticulous attention to detail.
• A track, record of meeting strict deadlines without compromising standards and quality.
