Radiology Section -M
Summary
Produces a high standard radiographic images utilizing digital radiography equipment. Assists supervisor with coordination and organization of daily activities of radiographers.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1. Acts as a reference in their section.
2. Assist supervisor in ensuring proper work standards implemented in general section.
3. Reviews exam orders/requisitions, reviews corresponding protocol and, if needed, asks questions of senior(s) and prepares for exams.
4. Identifies patients by following the hospital identification policy.
5. Explains procedures to patients. Prepares equipment, supplies.
6. Positions patient and attaches or adjusts immobilizing and shielding devices to ensure precise patient position, patient comfort, and to minimize patient exposure to x-rays.
7. Selects and adjusts if needed proper sitting for each projection to produce proper images.
8. Monitors patient condition during and after procedure to ensure patient safety and comfort. Retrieves information from computer and processes information in the proper format for interpretation by the Radiologist and/or archiving.
9. Evaluates completed tests for quality and completeness. Documents all studies performed.
10. Performs quality control studies on equipment. Informs supervisor of equipment malfunction or need for repair and documents.
11. Cleans equipment and room and restores all equipment and supplies for subsequent use.
12. Participates in staff meetings, in-services and/or continuing education.
13. Assists in training and supervision of students, interns and trainees.
Education
Bachelor s Degree in Radiological Sciences/Radiologic Technology for Saudis, or equivalent diploma in Radiological Sciences, minimum of two years for non-Saudi required.
Experience Required
Grade 09: Four (4) years of hospital radiology experience is required for Bachelor of Science degree holders, or minimum of five (5) years for Associate and diploma. OR two (2) years of experience as technologist grade 9 level at KFSH.
Grade 10: Four (4) years of experience as a senior technologist at KFSH with documented leadership abilities in addition to 100 CME and at least 4.3 average evaluation for the last 4 years.
Other Requirements(Certificates)
Successful completion of Registration in Radiography with American Registry of Radiographic Technologists or the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists or equivalent required.
