Saudi Arabian Railway is currently looking for a senior level Locomotive Engineer to join our Rolling Stock Management Department.
The post holder will lead the independent locomotive engineering team within Rolling Stock Maintenance. They are the professional head for locomotive engineering and will act with diligence and integrity in all professional approach across the locomotive engineering team and into the maintenance teams
Principal Duties and Accountabilities
Lead and manage the locomotive engineering team delivering professional services across the team to support the delivery of locomotive availability
Monitor the performance of the locomotive fleet and develop plans to improve its safety performance enhance vehicle availability and reliability and reduce unit cost
Custodian of the maintenance management system with respect to locomotives
Custodian of SAR Locomotive Rolling Stock Standards
Provide managerial, technical and supportive training
Assess the RSM production team’s performance against SAR standards and procedures including, competence, supplier and audit
Provide operational engineering support to the locomotive workshop supervisor and front line management team
Provide Project Engineers to act as the interface between the engineering team and the procurement teams for SAR’s strategic Projects
Develop and manage the locomotive engineering team budget including the operational manpower budget and the capital requirements for the rolling stock assets
Identify world-leading technologies that are applicable to the SAR operating environment and the strategic direction of the organization
Manager of the locomotive engineering change procedure
Health and Safety Responsibilities
Develop a positive health and safety culture throughout the engineering team and its associated areas
Ensure that all persons are aware of safety procedures and embed a strong organizational and team culture - developing a positive attitude to health and safety among all staff.
Ensure a safe working environment by leading on the implementation of Health and Safety policy, systems and procedures.
Develop and deliver work methods and standards that will ensure health and safety legislation is complied with.
Embed health and safety within all daily activities
