Our client provides a full range of project management, engineering, procurement and management services, currently working on more than 11,000 projects for 350+ clients.
We are hiring for a Principal Instrumentation Engineer to be based in Saudi Arabia working on mega offshore project.
Job Description:
Perform and/or oversee all Electrical Power System Analyses and other applicable studies, assuring compliance with all applicable codes pertaining to all aspects of electrical systems and equipment.
Oversee the work of other Electrical Engineering personnel. Provide direction and guidance to the Electrical Engineering and Design Team.
Prepare man-hour estimates for all Electrical Engineering and Design activities.
Schedule, track, and forecast Electrical Engineering activities.
Manage man-hour expenditures for Electrical Engineering and Design.
Produce required project reporting for Electrical Engineering and Design.
Ensure coordination with other in-house departments.
Develop and maintain schedules and diagrams pertaining to main electrical power and its direct control systems.
Develop and maintain electrical power analysis models making all decisions and recommendations for electrical protection arrangements, devices and s/ratings.
Perform all associated electrical calculations coving, equipment sizing, cable sizing, AC & DC UPS systems, transformers, lighting, impressed cathodic protection, etc.
Coordinate Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecoms cable rack inputs into 3D computer design model, including clash checking and material requirement outputs. (Note E, I & T groups will be individually responsible for inputting their equipment into any 3D CAD model).
Prepare requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and supplier document review for all electrical equipment and materials.
Perform thorough review of relevant vendor information.
Provide a timely internal check of drawings produced by other MHDP disciplines.
Incorporate MHDP procedures and standards into design as applicable
Requirements& Experince:
20 years’ experience minimum.
Fellow or Corporate Member of a recognized Electrical chartered professional body.
BSc Engineering degree or equivalent from a recognized Institution. MSc degree preferred.
Visits to offshore facilities for surveys.
Lifting and carrying offshore.
Inspection trips
Leadership experience or proven leadership skills.
Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, ANSI, API, etc.) and preferably also Saudi Aramco standards and working practices.
Should be proficient in Microsoft office software (Word and Excel) and Mustang purchased and in house created software such as ETAP. Should also be familiar with editing, opening and reading drawings in Microstation and working with SP3D 3D CAD system on projects. Should be familiar with responding to e-Mails & doing all necessary actions as required.
May be assigned as a Discipline Technical Authority (DTA); a person identified as an overall technically competent team member able to address technically complex issues & mentor team members with their technical work.
