About the company
Our client is an international consultancy providing free risk consultancy services. They are currently looking for Fire Protection Design Engineer to be based Saudi Arabia.
Responsibilities
As a Fire Protection Design Engineer you would be responsible for conceptual and detailed design of active and passive fire and life safety systems in residential, commercial and industrial / oil & gas type facilities both onshore and offshore. This would include hydraulic calculation, gas flow calculations, hazardous areas classification, and the preparation of fire engineering design basis reports, detailed engineering drawings and specifications in accordance with NFPA codes and standards and using software packages including AutoCAD, PIPENET etc.
ExperienceMinimum 10 years industry based experience in the design, installation testing and commissioning of fire protection systems including sprinklers, water spray, gaseous fire suppression, water mist systems, fire pumps and fire detection and alarm system in accordance with NFPA codes and standards of which a minimum of 5 years’ experience is in the capacity of a Fire Protection Design Engineer.
Technical Competencies
Degree qualified –BEng or BSc with relevant experience in Fire Protection Industry (essential)
Post Graduate / NICET / CFPS qualification in Fire Engineering
Experienced user of design software for water & gas flow calculation
Knowledge of fire engineering calculations and software etc.
Understanding of American (NFPA and ICC/IFC) and British design standards
Good level of computer literacy in Windows, Excel, MS Project and other Microsoft products.
Expert knowledge / use of AutoCAD.
Ability to independently initiate concept, scheme and detailed designs
