Duties and Responsibilities

Performs his/her duties and tasks as per Hospital Policy and Agreement on Professional Code of Conduct

Actively participates in all quality and performance improvement activities within the department/service and within the hospital as per Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Plan.

Actively participates in all the education requirement and activities as per the Hospital Education Program.

Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the scope of practice and employment contract.

Work under strict discipline and follow orders.

Respond to emergency call, lay and connect hose, hold nozzle and direct water stream, raise and climb ladders, use extinguishers and other equipment.

Provide rescue in various forms from dangerous situations, operational response to dangerous goods calls.

Ventilate building to release heat, smoke and gases, place salvage covers, and action to prevent water damage.

As assigned, drive and operate firefighting apparatus, perform varied maintenance tasks on apparatus equipment and facilities.

Fire prevention work, conduct course for other staff and contracted parties, and under direction of an officer performs inspections and clerical duties as required.

Mentoring others in emergency medical care, and firefighting.

Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the scope of practice and employment contract.

Competent in safe and effective usage of firefighting and safety tools, vehicles and equipment,

Attends all scheduled training, in-services, education and lectures provided by the Senior Fire Personnel,

Completes quality and safety rounds in insurance that the fire station, equipment and tools are organized, clean and available when needed. .

Adheres to safety codes and in specific to the correct application, usage and readiness of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Principles, practices and procedures of modern firefighting and emergency rescue.
Operation of fire apparatus, equipment’s, tools, devices, facilities and their proper use.
Basic life support procedures and techniques.
Basic rescue techniques and procedures.
Basic techniques for handling hazardous materials.
Basic Uniform Building Code and Uniform Fire Code preventions.
Think and act quickly and effectively in emergencies.
Knowledgeable in fire radio communication.
Knowledgeable in fire alarm panel response procedures.
Able to perform techniques as outlined above
Fluency and comprehension in written and spoken English and desirable for written and spoken Arabic.
Demonstrate mechanical aptitude as required in the operation of firefighting equipment.
Demonstrate physical aptitude as required by essential functions.
Read and understand technical materials, rules, regulations and procedures related to firefighting.
Operate and perform basic service maintenance procedures on all firefighting equipment, both manually operated and motorized.
Learn to analyze emergency situations and learn to identify various hazardous materials. Retain presence of mind in emergency situations.
Ability to remain calm under stressful and emergent situations.
Ability to maintain exposure to heat, smoke
Education

Completion of Certificates / Firefighting practical training
