Facilities managers are responsible for the operation and maintenance of buildings, associated utilities, firefighting, security, auxiliaries’ systems, subsystems and services. As a facilities manager, you’ll be responsible for the management of services and processes that support the core business of the organization and the business owners. You’ll ensure that applicable standards and best practices are followed for maximum efficiency and that the most suitable working environment is attained for its employees and their activities.This is a diverse field with a range of responsibilities, which are dependent on the structure and size of the organization the business owners. You’ll be involved in both strategic planning and day-to-day operations, particularly in relation to buildings and premises. Likely areas of responsibility include:building and grounds maintenancejanitorial\cleaning services.catering and vendinghealth and safetyprocurement and contract managementsecurityspace managementutilities and communications infrastructuremechanical and operational machineryAs a facilities manager, you’ll need to:prepare documents to put out tenders for contractorsprojects manage, supervise, and coordinate the work of contractorsinvestigate the availability and suitability of options for new premisescost preparation / annual budget preparation for the divisioncalculate and compare costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for moneymanaging the services and processes that support the core business of the organization and the business owners including the employee accommodations and its management/upkeep.plan for future development in line with strategic business objectivesestablish/implement ATCO maintenance protocols and policies, preventive maintenancemanage and lead change to ensure minimum disruption to core activitiesbuild, manage, evaluate the team/division.direct, coordinate and plan essential services such as reception, security, maintenance, mail, archiving, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and recyclingensure facilities and premises meet health and safety requirements and that facilities comply with Saudi Arabia legislation and governmental lawsplan best allocation and utilization of space and resources for new buildings, or re-organizing of current premisescheck that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and follow up on any deficienciesIntegrating technologies that support best practice and maximize returnsuse performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels and to lead on improvementrespond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and deal with the consequences.

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Civil, mechanical, or electro-mechanical. A facility management certificate (FMP) is a plusProven experience as a facility manager or in other managerial positionPre-entry experience is desirable and a placement year in industry from a relevant degree can be particularly useful for gaining skills and building a network of contacts.
